I should point out that the speaker specifically avoided saying that the respective capitals or zones actually traded hands. Setting the stage and finishing the task are two very different things.

fucking hell, night elves can't get a fucking break can't they?
Personnally, im perfectly ok to give them undercity. Welcome to waiting-ascensor and must-pass-mass-doors-too-little world. Go and do the halloween quest here too, you will be happy.
If you search me, im cooking sausage near barbecuedrassil. Someone want one ?
Part of the problem with losing Undercity is that humans don't want to live in Undercity, they want to rebuild above ground. They would need to build a entire above ground city even if most of it is in shambles. If I recall at one point they talked about not wanting to waste time in cities that nobody would hang out in. See why Silvermoon and Exador never got updated.
Quel'thalas and Azuremyst are figuratively and literally cut off from the rest of their continents. The Belves just got to barricade themselves with a shuield, I bet they could come up with a sweet ass new banidoriel with the help of the nightborne, and azuremyst is just so out of the way that is hardly a priority and a maritime barricade can take care of that. Also the vindicar can become a great deterrent.
The point being, is that both zones just are not in the way for majority control and as long as they are gridlocked the Kalimdor:Horde and EK:Alliance is true from a practical standpoint.
Back to the void elves, not sure how they are gonna go about it. I thought it was more likely for Alleria to just recruit the silver covenant and train them.
I still hope that the last stand before retreating from Undercity is to blow up all the piles of plague they have and make it so that humans have won nothing but a ruin that they can't live in. So in the end night elves lose their main city and lands, cause political friction inside Alliance and gain nothing but ghosts and blight.
I wonder if they can just move Quel'thalas. If the Kirin Tor can do it to Dalaran it stands to reason the belves would be able to teleport their city as well, unless the Sunwell complicates things somehow.
Well, so much for that. Silvermoon is still Horde. See In-depth systems panel.
Pretty sure Silvermoon remained Horde is because Blizz did not bother ( again ) to update the city at all. No surprise really.
Yes we do. Did you watch the trailer? Eastern Kingdoms are painted blue and Kalimdor red, because the Alliance attacks the Undercity and the Horde burns down Teldrassil. Therefore Alliance rules over EK and Horde over Kalimdor. That leaves Draenei and Blood Elves up in the air. Draenei can easily relocate, but Blood Elves?
