Just another hill for "Feminists" to die on and blame men for the murder.

It boggles my mind that someone can have feelings on either side of an argument about a filter app. Women will not stop being impregnated because of this, we will survive.

I don't get the hostility to makeup from a lot of guys.

To be honest, quite a few girls look better with makeup. As long as it's not taken to Pennywise-proportions, I'm fine with a woman wearing makeup if she wants to. In fact, a woman who knows how to properly use makeup to accentuate her appearance is a plus in my book.

As for the app? Seems like a nothingburger people are getting up in arms over.

So I have to point out that it's impossible for an app to remove makeup.

I mean unless it's connected to a metal arm with some sponges and a cleanser.

Obviously this thing just makes the input face look shittier according to whatever algorithm it was programmed with, and that's not really what those people's faces look like.

advertising and economy is based on sex. this removes the sexual drive. No drive = no economy.

I think that's the issue most (reasonable) people have with the app.
Because I am sure that some will take the results at face value (no pun intended), without realising that they most likely look worse than the person actually would without any make up. The app adds quite a lot of blemishes etc. where - in reality - might not be any.

That said: Given the original purpose of the app, it's certainly not a bad idea.

Brilliant marketing tactic. Upset some oversensitive women, get free advertising. Now they'll have more sales than they would have if their app worked properly.

Hmm. Certainly doesn't look like me without makeup.

I think thats where a lot of them fuck up. they call it a make up Remover, when it is actually a Average Face Filter.

that sounds like something someone trying to hide their face would say!

I wonder what it does to someone without make-up on.

I don't really use make up anyway, but I was curious, so I have tried a few pictures to see what would happen. Just adds a bunch of blemishes etc. that in reality aren't there - and kinda makes you look like a zombie in the worse cases.

Are you willing to do a side by side comparison later out of interest, like when you're taking it off anyway? No worries if not, I'm just genuinely curious how wrong it gets it.

Given the number of photo editing apps out there it seems logical that there would be one which shows people for who they are.

At the end of the day it's best not to even wear makeup and be your natural self.
Actually agree with you. Many women look perfectly fine with limited / no makeup.

it gives them superpowers, understandable that this app causes outrage

We need more stuff like this. Not really talking about makeup removal apps or showing people how they really are. What I mean is we need more things that offend people. We need so much more that people just get used to it, build up a thicker skin and stop being fucking whiners for nothing.

A lot of girls rate themselves too high because they forget they're ugly under makeup.

I've seen way too many uglies call boys ugly when their skin was way worse under the foundation.
