The phrase you're looking for is "easily influenced and manipulated by bias".
Sure, there is a distinct possibility that the jury was comprised of liberal minded jurors who saw a chance to make a public statement that illegal immigrants don't have to follow the law because Trump is president. It's disgusting, revolting, and an absolute miscarriage of justice, but leaving it all in the hands of a single person whose biases cannot be counteracted by someone else is much worse. All it takes is for their bias to see a white/black/hispanic/asian person on the chopping block and say, "fuck em, they probably did it. Guilty as charged."
Unfortunately, bias exists in everything and a good portion of the time, that bias directly impacts how we view any given situation. It distorts our perceptions and warps our ability to rationalize equitable and reasonable solutions to problems.
A cursory glance through many of the more politically charged or identity politic oriented threads in Off-Topic shows how easily this bias can surface and just how warped some views get.
Prosecution did a shit job, cops did a shit job, and they were unable to establish guilt beyond a reasonable doubt because of how badly they botched the case. Next case.
Be seeing you guys on Bloodsail Buccaneers NA!
Would his interview with the news station not be allowed to enter evidence for some reason?

Again, that case has not been decided yet. If somehow the driver gets off with only a reckless driving charge then feel free to make threads calling for outrage. Until then there's no point.
