I'm thinking about coming back to wow, I played a disc priest from WoTLK to MoP as my main. I understand disc isn't what it used to be and I'm wondering what a good healer would be to boost? I like both PvP and raiding.

They say shamans are good but i don't heal myself
My main healer is a disc priest but takes a little bit to learn the new style and I also love my shaman.
All healers are good. Some are better if you are pushing top mythic kills.
If you do not then pick whichever you want.
Holy Paladin: The godlike Tank healer as it has always been.
Restoration Druid: Mobile Healer. Exceptional AOE.
Mistweaver monk: They heal... I guess hate the monk class so don't really know what they do.
Restoration Shamans: Jack of All Trades, Master of them All.
Holy Priest: Easy and fun. Jack of All Trades, Master of none.
Discipline Priest: High Skill-Cap. Lovely Barrier. Quite good.
I current main Holy Priest. I am too shit to play Disc. In addition, I have "Mained" Holy priest for roughly 8-9 years now. Except for Siege of Orgrimmar.

"We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
