Frankly, it should be made a public utility, or the ISPs need to be smashed down into several smaller corps, because the few that run everything, have their "monopolies" pretty much across the nation, and this is what, the 6th time they've tried to attack net neutrality? Enough is enough. Time to tell them "tired of your fucking shit" and bitch slap them so hard, their companies collapse.

they have way too much money for that to ever happen. why we thought companies out of the goodness of their hearts would provide "decent" service to Americans is yet another example of why "the hand of the free market" can get shoved into a fucking blender. the government gave those guys the go ahead to make the network but with no intensive for it to not be exploited out it's ass.

Killing net neutrality has gone through various guises over the past two decades... it is not a unique stance under Trump's presidency or the republicans...

I’m not psychic so you could be right we’ll see.

If it blocks all communist and porn websites, I vote to repel.

Plus, we need to block all gay, anti-religion, anti-abortion, anti-gun websites !

The cable ISPs did this already with their cable service.

Cable packages are still sky high in price and now everyone is using the internet for their "cable" shows because of it.

This is how the cable ISPs are trying to get their customers back, by ensuring the internet can only be accessed like cable can - via overpriced packages.

in 2014 I had 0 options for broadband so I know the struggle. I paid $200 a month for 10 mb down and 500kb up

Nobody has 'spoken'. Just because a small group voted for a guy who doesn't care about the actual person who calls the shots, doesn't mean they voted for this.

There is no way that you pay $200 for 10 Mbits/sec.

Net Neutrality doesn't protect the price.
It prevents that ISP doesn't "filter" the websites.

For example, Yahoo "secretly" paid me $1 million.
Whenever someone does a search on google and others, I add ten seconds delay.

Microsoft paid. All other browsers are slow except Internet Explorer.

If ISP has monopoly, it can be more open.
You only have access these 100 websites.

Net Neutrality, I thought gave everyone high speed internet for lower cost. But it didn't. So honestly I couldn't care less about it being taken out.

It may not have done what you thought it did but it does help prevent the opposite from happening.

Now you're just out of touch considering it isn't backed by the public and instead it is mostly just some lobbyist and an FCC headed by a Verizon lawyer.

Those two things have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

Network neutrality is the principle that all traffic should receive equal priority without regard for source or destination.

That's it. It doesn't say anything about the overall speed of the connection or the price of said connection.

Actually, blocked sites are more likely to be the outliers, not what's popular that money can be made from by web-ransoming... You're more likely to see the opposite sorts of sites be throttled or even blocked.

Yeah. But there's the issue. The day comes that there is a site or network that you DO care about accessing and your ISP tells you "no".

I mean, I already know you're going to say "I don't give a shit"... cause you like to be all edgy and controversial and always want to take the stand that is going to create the most static... but it WILL affect you. The internet should be treated like any other utility.

It would be like the electric companies getting to tell you that you're not allowed to use lamps after 9 pm, or charge you more for electricity use in the morning.

Yes, because as everyone obviously knows if someone is wrong about one thing then he must be wrong about every opinion he has and everything he has to say ever. /s
The most difficult thing to do is accept that there is nothing wrong with things you don't like and accept that people can like things you don't.
