Will Capitalism Die With Baby Boomers?

It is known that boomers are staunch supporters of capitalism, but their generation is on the last steps of being pushed out. Millennials are more and more in support of socialistic systems, and stand poised to take the reigns of power as the boomer generation dies out.

Will capitalism (in its current form) finally tumble when the boomer generation loses its power?

No, millenials are nothing. Generation X are conservative and will keep capitalism alive.

As long as the super rich continue to have as much control over the political process, then no. That shit isn't going anywhere.

ERRRR WRONG! Horseshit, I am Gen X and we are NOT fucking conservative, as for capitalism it's been dying for a while.

But Capitalism isn't going anywhere for a while as more countries finally move to it, that is when international crisis will hit.

I wonder if every time Nanook gets dehydrated from not taking care of himself while cleaning those oil storage tanks (you know, the pinnacle of hard work), he makes another thread about communism or against capitalism. Dehydration can really mess with your mind; get a drink dude.

Capitalism isn't going anywhere anytime soon. It's not perfect, but it's far less murderous than communism.

The ultra-wealthy are the biggest obstacles to improvement, even under a capitalist system.

Having said that, Socialism isn't sustainable until certain resources are effectively unlimited (energy, namely). Until then, that utopia isn't going to work.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes
    Or should I?

I always find it funny when people say:

well until we basically have magic socialism will not be possible.

LMFAOOOOOOOO no. Those edgy college kids tend to grow out of the socialist/communist meme when they get a decent job and start making decent money.

There's a reason why almost all "communists" who are out of college have a useless liberal arts/gender studies degree.

This thread is rather funny considering that the ones really making huge money off capitalism these days are the ones like bezos, cook, williams, zuckerberg. Some of the richest people of the planet making money doing basically nothing but jack shit, abusing the market, buying off competitors, and destroying real jobs.
And they are all liberals. But we know, liberals have been, are, and will be, always full of it.

Wont take long for Millenials to realize this as well, the more you grow up the better you understand the world.

Capitalism seems to be doing just fine, sure some adjustments need to be made in society but that'll always be there. Instead of hoping for something to come, why not get off your ass and make something of yourself?

ALL rational behavior is negative. Easified Hegel, but he was right - whenever you first think or reflect on what to do you are no longer yourself.

Historically younger age groups are often more left leaning and start sliding to the right as they grow older and don't want to share what they have or have been soured to the left. I imagine you would have to go back several generations for that info to change much based on the age groups.

Or when they say, "until the Rich" or basically most small business owners.

Yeah please more salt, with your whine, here is the thing even when Conservatives think they are holding all the cards and they almost never are, they still sweat, while liberals from beginning to end stay true, no matter what bullshit some try to say.

Strength comes from struggle, and as the smoke clears we stand, and that terrifies you, so go ahead and clutch, the world isn't going to be communist, but it will turn the page, and capitalism in it's currency form is going to fall.

Honestly millennials are pretty pissed about their overall job prospects which are extremely shitty no matter what you major in, and school is expensive. I would not be surprised to see a pushback from late stage capitalism in the US sometime during my lifetime. Mostly because we're seeing quality of life in the US degrade to an extent we have not seen since the Great Depression. Young adults are feeling like they can't afford to move out of the house let alone secure a mortgage and have children, and the stupid fucks at the top in charge of policy making are too dense to see that they're going to have to make some sweeping changes if they want to avoid protests in the streets within the next couple of decades.

Communism is a shit idea but stronger safety net programs + quality of life changes in the US are still an excellent idea. We also need to make alternatives to expensive college degrees be the norm for employment purposes and advocate for a wage that sufficiently covers the basic needs of life.

Nah that is a misnomer, most people who start out left are the same who start out right and go the other direction as a course it is meaningless, and as a indication of the future it's equally meaningless.

What you are trying to frame your argument in is that you think that as generations age they will become more protectionist which is neither really a conservative or republican trait.

However Republicans will be generally try to protect, rich, white, and men, everyone else doesn't.

It wasn't designed to be global, that is the problem though. It's why guys like Bezos and Walmart and Gates, and Musk Embrace it, and Pickens, and Koch and all the other right wing tycoons are pissing in their depends.

Resources aren't infinite, and there are places for some they are running out of places to peddle bullshit and expand, it's why they fear globalization.
