[Video Game Music] What video game music never fails to make you nostalgic?

I'm not sure why, since I never even played the game that much when it came out, but the soundtrack to Diablo II takes me way back anytime I hear it. It is single-handedly enough to make me [want to] download and play the game again, and I can listen to the standalone album without being bored by a single track. It's one of the few older video game soundtracks I've never found cheesy or stale, no matter how many listens I give it.

What piece of music or soundtrack from a game has this effect on you?

    Legend of Zelda: OoT.

That soundtrack haunts me to this day. That start screen music is so good. I am just sucked back to 1998 again. I can remember where I was and what was happening around this time.

Mmm, PS1 classic. Always takes me back. I wasted so many hours with this game. Totally worth it.

Basically any classic WoW zone music. Only before pandora/spotify/youtube did I ever have the music on in WoW, so it reminds me of my early days 10+ years ago.

EDIT: Also runescape music, particularly the ftp cities. I played that before WoW.

Same, but I still grew up with it!

Anything old really, as in 80s to 90s.

Music on the Amiga/C64, SNES/Genesis, PC, Etc.

I occasionally find myself listening to hours long compilations of music from whatever system.

A number of gems from old gaming music that later on musicians plagiarized off or influenced by.

Old Arcade music, like Golden Axe, or Mario, Pokemon. I have a customer that their Hold Music is some old Pokemon music and I just get brought back to being 12 years old and rocking my way through Pokemon Blue and Red.

Still my favorite Final Fantasy game ever, I want to get a PS2 again just for this. There is also a PSP version I had once upon a time.

    Many Zelda and FF tracks.

Not so old, but the Mass Effect series have great emotional value for me, the music sends me directly there.

This is music from my childhood, nostalgia for a time when the world looked bigger.

Red Alert was another title I thought about seeing this thread. Golden times for RTS.

Mountains of Thunder in particular has moments of awesome, and a moment of what seems to me a deep sorrowful victory.

    Speaking of sorrow...
