I bought a realm reborn a long time ago, before the starter edition and before both expansions came out.

I'm confused by what the square store says, it says for stormblood you need the starter edition?

does that mean I have to re buy the game as starter edition in order to get stormblood and heavensward to work on my account?
or can i go ahead and just buy stormblood that includes heavensward and pick up a month and be fine?

If you have the base game of ARR, you should only need to purchase Stormblood because it will include Heavensward.

Keep in mind though, if you bought ffxiv through steam, you should buy stormblood through steam.

It seems that buying ffxiv from steam and stormblood through the square enix website you won't be able to link the accounts or something..
