Let me preface this with saying yes the video is a couple years old but pretty sure it's still a good indicator of what socialists want out of society. Am I correct? Would really love to hear from some of the socialists on this site.

Sadly, these are the sorts of people who don't want taxes paying for basic education in the first place. Why would they care about giving people a better chance at a solid career through higher education?

It is long known that those within socialists groups only care about redistribution as long as it doesn't come from their pocket and that redistribution is solely focused on a special interest group they form part of. Just look at how much people lashed out when Republicans dared to propose that SALT deductions be capped at 10k.

Both sides attract young naive idiots. Her version of "free college" is the same ideal a lot of these never been in the real world idiots. Getting made to look like a fool on national television hopefully helped her to wise up to the real world. Chances are not though, it just further demonized conservatism to her.

Wait hold up. You're using a 2 year old broadcast of an interview from Fox, in which this poor college student was ambushed for her quasi-flawed/incomplete thought process, to do what exactly? Demonstrate that socialism is a bad idea?

Not really taking sides on this because I don't believe democracy can exist without capitalism. But to combat this equally shaky argument you've constructed, one could fire back with a simplistic model for capitalism.

Not even going to bother with the video but there is nothing wrong with society paying for a free college education. The united States needs this badly more than any other country we have a lot of people that are going to be displaced by technology they need to get new degrees. These coal miners, taxi drivers etc can be re-educated to have more secure jobs for themselves and their family. The question of what type of degrees and college should be paid for is a legitimate one but laughing at the concept of a free college education or job training shows how short sighted some people have become.

Thats what Fox breitbart ect does so well find the most ridiculous and extreme examples of something and then point "see see" they are all like this.

Should also note these examples tend to be of random youtube, twitter, ect people that have little to no followers let alone political capital. On the other hand the "fake news" quotes Trump, republicans, or people of authority/influence for sound bits of stupid.

Socialists want people who own a greater proportion of the wealth to pay a greater proportion of the tax to keep money flowing through society and keeping the economy moving instead of investing and saving it all for decades and grinding everything to a halt.
