[Comics/TV/Movies] Harley Quinn, Anti-Hero or Bad Guy?

This is a question on if you prefer the character as straight up bad guy, or as an anti-hero type.

there have actually been some else world versions of Harley that have straight up made her a psychopath, like the justice league gods and monsters series (she's pretty messed up in that one).

Personally I've always preferred her as an anti hero type, she could save a kid from drowning, but as batman swoops in she smacks him over the head with her mallet.

She is a bad guy no question, she makes a deliberate choice to hurt and kill people for even less reasons than would a typical villain.

At least the Joker actually has an excuse, she doesn't

The appeal of Harley is she isn't straight up anything...but she isn't really an anti-hero either. If I had to assign her an alignment... I'd say she's more of a Chaotic Neutral.

Harley isn't exactly playing with a full deck of cards.

Something suicide squad got massively wrong with the character and the jokers relationship is how they treated it as a ross and rachel thing, like they are these two mad lovers.

No. Joker brainwashed her into losing her shit and shes been obsessed with him ever since, but shes merely like a bone to a dog for the joker. Hes possessive of it, and likes chewing on it, but he doesnt love her per say.

Every time Jared Leto said Harley was "His girl" I wanted to punch him in the face for being so massively wrong about the character.

Straight up villainess. Batman already has Catwoman for the anti-hero/criminal with a heart of gold role. Not saying she should just be a female Joker and I do like it when they kinda peak behind the curtains so to speak and show the more human and vulnerable side to her, but she still works better as an antagonist.

Well, I mean... Jared didn't write the script... Punch the person who wrote the script.

Agreed. Harley needs to go back to being what she truly is, a Joker supporting character.

Chaotic Neutral in general is a hedonistic alignment. Harley does what she wants. Sometimes that means saving the drowning kid. Sometimes that means hitting the Batman with a Mallet. Sometimes it means murdering a whole lot of people.

Someone somwhere gave him information which he used to make that decision, it was likely the director/script, which means it's still not his fault... He was fed bad information, he made decisions based on it because it's what he had to go off of.

Near as I can tell she was a Psychiatrist, if she isn't playing with a full deck, she wouldn't have arrived at that level in life. No she made a choice.

She doesn't get a pass because people find her attractive.

I like her because she is/was both. She has had allot of growth over the years. While other hero's and villain rarely change their M.O. or who/what they are. Most of them have become stale to me about that.
Must say looks wise she also has changed allot. But it suits her growth.

Near as I can tell you don't actually know anything about Harley Quinn. She was driven insane by the Joker.

Well I watch The Animated Series, I am not really interested in her as a character, because she mostly seems like a ripoff female version of the joker. She is about an uncomplex and interesting of a character DC has made, and that saying a lot.

Maybe the Animated Series isn't canon or her role has been rebooted, but near as i can tell nah she wasn't driven anywhere, she was a mental healthcare expert, she knew what to expect she acted, she is culpable, and she is far worse than just a bad guy, she is evil.

Depends. Maybe sympathetic anti-villain at best. You certainly tend to sympathize more with her than Joker, which makes her look like an abused puppy by comparison.
