I know people who have the XB271HU and they like it, but I personally think the stand is ugly and I've heard a few stories about how annoying its menu is to navigate. I've heard good stuff about the S2716DG but I've never seen one in person.
As for me I love my PG279Q. The joystick menu is easy to use, the gamevisual function to switch between color presets to make what task you're doing(FPS, RPG's, Racing, watching tv/movies) look its best is wonderful, the stand is nice, and I've had none of the backlight bleeding issues that others have reported with it.
It all comes down to preference though.
I have the BenQ (1440p@144hz 27") https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-578-_-Product
I can recommend it, but if you get it, adjust it with these settings http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/...tm#calibration
When I first turned it on it was so bright it was like staring into the sun.
PM me weird stuff :3
Go for the Acer Predator XB271HU. It was awarded best gaming monitor 2017

I have it myself and it is the best gaming monitor i have ever had and G-Sync is superb and IPS panel is a must have
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D: Gigabyte X670 Aorus Elite AX: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5-6000 C30 : PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 GRE Hellhound OC: CORSAIR HX850i: Samsung 960 EVO 250GB NVMe: fiio e10k: lian-li pc-o11 dynamic XL:
I've only ever used the dell, and it's the one I own.
A few thoughts. G-Sync is nice, and I wouldn't go back, but there was one thing I wasn't counting on. I often watch Youtube videos in my second monitor, and when a G-Sync enabled game is played (I imagine this is true with anything G-Sync), if the frame rate drops below the refresh rate of the display you're watching a video on, that video will lag out until the frame rate is returned (so at 45fps in game, your video will stutter, at loading screens it will stop altogether).
Also, I found I had to switch my G-Sync display to 120hz instead of 144hz, or I'd get some weird stuttering almost like early SLI. Every second or so the game would hitch for a frame or two, and then continue. It didn't stop until I set the frame rate in windows to 120hz, likely because it's a multiple of my second display's frame rate (60hz). I spent a long time trying out different drivers to minimize the effect, and switching the G-Sync display to 120hz in the system menu seems to have gotten rid of it completely.
Finally, with the dell specifically, I usually sit with my eyes about 2 inches above the bottom bezel, and I notice the colors are blue shifted slightly due to viewing off-angle. If I sit up higher the effect goes away.
My total thoughts on the Dell is, "I wish I had gone IPS". Don't get me wrong, I was happy to have the G-Sync upgrade, and I got mine for $200 cheaper than what newegg currently has it listed as, on a black friday deal. If I had it to do over again, I probably would have waited and got the better display like the PG279Q or the X270HU.
That being said, now that I do have a G-Sync display I don't play any games on my 40" 4k anymore unless I'm sitting on the couch with a controller. It's a definite upgrade over 60hz, or high refresh alone.
I have the DELL and have no complaints. If you can get to a position where you look at the screen head on you won't see any color shift. IPS in my mind are a little over rated.
Got the Dell aswell and really enjoying it so far. From what i've read IPS is somewhat of a lottery, might have backlight bleeding, might have not but i'm not willing to take that risk.
Besides that i compared my Dell TN panel with an IPS panel at a lan party a while ago and the differences were minimal.
From the 2 displays i would choose the Dell, mostly because the Acer is almost twice ( WHY?! ) as expensive with almost same specs.
