Ok, I know this is a MASSIVE long shot but wowhead just datamined some upgraded Earth Elemental models and they look great!

If they are upgrading the earth elementals, does that mean the other elementals will follow like Fire, Air and water?

Could Big Blue soon be about to get the update he deserves?

I know. You know that always saddens me a little. I use lonely winter myself in raids, but I always felt that the Frost Mage should have been our pet spec simply to provide some measure of uniqueness.

There are some occasions when Big Blue is useful though, such as doing world content. And it could be that bone chilling or Ice Nova sims better at some point, in which case we might need him for raiding.

It would be awesome if he looked modern and less like the repurposed sprite of an early 2000s RTS that he currently is.

Cannot argue there, visual improvements are overdue.

I am not terribly focused on it because, to me, Mage as a whole looks like a true mess. It is the first time in the whooping 11 years that i mained this class that i am worried about its iteration.

Frost looks terribly dull, sure we can talent for Ebonbolt and for insta-Blizzard, but we also lose something else in the process (that's how Talents work, after all).

Fire has the same problem Frost has, only 2 times worse. Not only we have to talent for Phoenix Flames, but Pyroclasm makes it so Meteor is definetly dead (at least in the PvE department).

And Arcane, i dunno even where to start. It feels totally unfinished, we lost Mark of Aluneth and we will still be tied to Rune of Power and those incredible burst windows, despite Blizzard saying that they wanted for all classes to feel less reliant on cds, meaning that for progression it will be the "no go" that it has been for the whole Legion expansion.

I share your misgivings, but I feel that a lot of classes are currently in a similar situation with the loss of the artifact.

Early BFA maybe a trial by fire for the class designers and for the game as we try and sort things out.

I am willing to give it a go though and see what comes out of it.

The fire elemental just got an update and it also now looks pretty cool.

That just leaves Air and Water and given they have done two it would be pretty odd to leave the last two out wouldn't it?

I have a good feeling about this.
