Moving and considering buying a Laptop

    Hey

I'll be moving around a lot in the next year and can't really be bothered to keep moving my PC around that much. I am looking to buy a gaming laptop to play mostly WoW on. I am looking in for something in the 1500-1800 USD price range.

I've considered Lenovo Legion Y720 (https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo....218710.0.html), but i don't know a lot about what laptops are good these days.

Any recommendations for laptops in this price range?

Lenovo and Asus are both decent. Steer clear of Dell or HP - cheap junk in my experience.

I used my Toshiba laptop (i5 2410M 2.3ghz, 6GB DDR3 with a GT 540M 1GB GPU) to game on for a couple years since I wasn’t gaming that much and had my desktop put away. It ran WoW just fine on med-high settings. It wasn’t WoW on ultra like my desktop but it looked fine and stayed around 75 FPS.

Just about anything you buy these days will be more than enough for WoW. If it’s just a temporary thing then I wouldn’t go crazy on a “gaming laptop.” An i5 machine with a mid range dedicated card, 8-16GB of ram and an SSD will save you money and do the job well.

Thanks. Might go for something a bit cheaper in that case.

The Legion Y720 looks awesome. If you want something cheaper maybe take a look at the Mi Notebook Pro (690 eur with NTBPIVEQ coupon, that's like 850 USD I think). You get the new i5-8250U, 8GB of ram, 256GB SSD and a dedicated gpu similar to gt 1030. 15.6 inch display and under 2 kg.

Do you want to play WoW on the highest settings or are you ok with medium? Because you seem to be ok with medium, and for that you don't really need a gaming laptop. A standard, cheaper one would do the job fine then.

This one is on sale, it's not the most powerfull, but it is highly portable

This one is less portable, but more powerfull (and pricier)
