Why dont you raid Mythic mode? (If you dont ofc)

Well, skill wise, Im sure I could do it with no problem. I was running Ulduar hard modes and LK heroic and finished it much before next raid came out.
These days I just dont want to do it anymore, when I hear stories about 500 wipes, it pulls out all the will from me. Not to mention how many hours are needed to put in it.
Also, finding a guild capable of finishing raid in reasonable time is not an easy task, considering demands they have about previous raiding history.

    So, what are your reasons?

I like my heroic guild on an RP realm too much. We don't have enough people to start mythic, nor do we realistically have the skill to finish it (with a few exceptions) if we did start it.

Because after raiding at the highest Content from TBC through to MoP, I learnt to hate other people. Nothing is more frustrating than wiping for 3hrs a night on progression because you have some Officer's or GM's Girlfriend/RL Friend cry until she/he is allowed to join Progression and then consistently wipe the group by fucking up Mechanics, yet be unable to kick them because of it being said GM/Officers GF/RL Friend.

I'd probably still raid mythic if I found a guild that had a group of consistently good people otherwise I cbf.

We don't have enough people for a heroic group even, but I enjoy doing it with cool people more than with new strangers and our group is really...different, let's put it that way.
Also, personally, I don't have that time and ambition. In the free time I have, which is limited because of University, I want to play what I want, so I have many games. Right now I'm playing Civilization VI: Rise and Fall, HotS and Planet Coaster, and I also have to prepare Pen & Paper every week, so...nope. If I don't want to play, then I don't play for a week. And it's like that in our whole guild, but we have maximum fun when we do raid! Best trade ever!
So...skillwise it would be possible, we are always better than our random queue players in terms of DPS and raid mechanic knowledge, but that doesn't work for a group of 4-10 people.

    Work and life.

My work hours are really variable, which means that my ability to be online at specific times is severely hampered.

I *could* strive to manage work around a set of raid times, but as I live with my girlfriend, who has no interest in gaming whatsoever. Doing this would decrease the time I can spend with her when I am at home which would decrease my happiness one way or another

In all, it's not really worth it to me. For this reason, I really really enjoy mythic +, I can log on, and do something challenging which takes a short amount of time. Suits me perfectly.

Skill wise, much like you, I could definitely do it, I cleared heroic week 1 as a tank, and now have much better gear. Back in my past life where time was not an issue, I did LK heroic and Ulduar hard modes, much like you did.

I'd imagine there's a reasonable amount of people in a similar situation to me.

if u have raid team that understands heroic mechanics completely ,killing starting 4-5 mythic boss is not a big deal , u will wipe 20-30 times but u will get the kill. It does not has to be that if u start mythic raid then u have to kill all mythic boss before next tier release.
Doing only heroic becomes boring after 1 months

Cause I gave up progression raiding mid Cata and refuse to do it.

I now stick to LFR and sometimes do Normal Mode if I am bored, I once in a blue moon will step into heroic but that's it.

Considered going back to Guild/Progression raiding but I have yet to find a guild where there RL doesn't annoy the shit out of me. Seems like a lot of guilds nowa day's want to act like they are Paragon or something.

I was hardcore raiding since WotLK , wiping like 200+ on some bosses just to get kill but simple after time get a bit tierd of it. Loot is no longer big incentive to go Mithick , you can jsut go do HC or M+ and get good TF

Hc is interesting enought for me and problem of Mithic raiding this days is that it req from you a lot but give a little in return compare to past expansions

Same boat you, raided lk hc and hard modes etc.

The problem we have right now is, we have a solid 15 people for raiding, our lowest member is 948 but he's been inactive for a over a month due to rl. But our server is low population I just can't find the people to make it to 20 man. Thats even taking into account shit geared people to invest in.

It's a shame really, there's 33 guilds which have 11/11hc cleared. If we kill Worldbreaker on mythic that takes us straight to position 4, given we properly formed and started 5 weeks ago that's not bad

I did the whole hardcore raiding thing for a decade. These days I still enjoy the game, but play it more as a thing to have fun a couple nights a week and not so much a second job like I used to.

Still, sometimes I miss the challenging content but our little guild is full of similarly casual and older players who are too old for that shit, and even if wanted to recruit for Mythic on our RP realm, it'd be quite an uphill battle to get a steady 20-man roster. Right now we have a core of ~11 people who've played together for years and I like that.

I've tried to play in some other guilds to see Mythic but the majority of Mythic guilds these days tend to be too immature for me. Too many memes, teens and big dick DPSers.

To me, raiding is more fun when it's a giant zerg of idiots wacking away at a giant monster. The smaller and more focused raiding has become over the years, the less interested I've become in it. If it wasn't for LFR, I wouldn't even bother with it anymore, since Cata effectively killed the casual pug raid scene.

    Several reasons honestly.
    1. Work. I might be free for raid night but I might not. Raids mostly are scheduled for Wednesday 8 PM and in my timeline it’s 11 PM. If I’m free that night it’s still too late for 3 hours of playing. I need sleep.
    2. My guild is dead and so is the realm basically. Though if I move to another realm, time and work problem pops up.

So I run HCs with pugs every Wednesday afternoon.
And now my main is 971ilvl and has practically nothing to loot in HC, except of Aman’Thul trinket.
As for alts, I try to progress one and suddenly I see no reason to spend hours with alt.

Sometimes I don’t know why I am still playing this game since I’ve done endgame content already.
Tons of gold, 25k achievements. Almost all rare titles.
In think I should just wait dor BfA

Over the years I did raid a lot of hard content, especially in TBC and again in Cataclysm. In WotLK I did also most hard things, but stopped middle of HC ICC. Was semi casual in early MoP but went hardcore again for SoO. In WoD, I raided up to mid-HFC mythic, however I did finish it later. Overall, I took part of most Mythic (previous HC) modes with some minor breaks. Those breaks were mostly due to getting a bit bored and prioing other games.

Nowadays, or rather since launch of Legion, I don't raid any Mythic at all, at least when it's up to date. I mean, doing any Mythic Legion raid pre-Antorus doesn't really count, as they can be pugged, except some Tomb bosses ofc.

The reason is not my contempt for Legion, cause I do think the raids have been amazing and they have nothing to do with why I don't like Legion, but simply because IRL takes too much time.

I work too much, for a while I even had 2 jobs at the same time, with 60+ hour work weeks, with both evening and weekend jobs (journalist and freelancing journalist and communicator). I LOVE my job, but it leaves me unable to raid.

I simply can't have a regular raid schedule, when I raid HC or Normal, it's at times when I am avaliable. It can be at 2pm, 8pm or 2am, depending on how my days that week look like. No guild could keep me on the roster with such uncertain attendence.

If I could, I would raid mythic but can't prio that over my job.

I used to love raiding mythic, like alot, especially with my guildmates which i have known for years.

Doing the mythics our guild just stopped being able to do mythic, we had people who are just not mythic material. So we decided to just raid heroic and mess around on voice comm and enjoy eachothers company.

I play with people in my guild i have known since i almost started playing this game, and they are the reason why i haven't left to join a mythic raiding guild.

I don't raid outside of LFR, for the same reasons why I don't do higher level M+ or rated PvP. Too much of a hassle to get people together to just do something without humans being stupid, and I can't seem to find a suitable guild. So I stopped bothering.

But even if I was willing, I wouldn't do Mythic raiding. I play the game to relax and have a good time, Mythic raiding sounds more like a job than a game.

I'm retired from raiding. I'm trying to seek my challenges elsewhere like mythic+. Raiding was to slow paced. Wipe, run back, stand around for a few minutes, hope people fix their mistakes on the next pull, wipe, repeat forever.

My work already takes 11 hours out of my day. Considering the amount of preparation for mythic raiding necessary if I don't want to end up taking from someone else's time, that could make WoW just a second job, and I really do not need that right now.

I like to enjoy raid nights as a fun social activity, not as a second job. I have a smaller group of friends I run M+ with, and get my competitive juices out that way.
