NRA, lobbyists and the politicians in their pockets have too much power atm for the voting public to do anything about it until the next election cycle. They won't though, because they would rather choke to death on smog in a hail of gunfire than have anyone think they are okay with the coloreds, the secular, abortion or anything that isn't completely puritan heteronormative sexuality.
