More than 90 Nigerian schoolgirls missing after Boko Haram attack

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-nigeria-security/more-than-90-nigerian-schoolgirls-missing-after-boko-haram-attack-sources-idUSKCN1G51DU

More than 90 Nigerian schoolgirls are feared missing after Islamist insurgent group Boko Haram attacked a village in the northeastern state of Yobe, two sources told Reuters on Wednesday.

Their disappearance, if confirmed, would be one of the largest since Boko Haram abducted more than 270 schoolgirls from the town of Chibok in 2014. That case drew global attention to the nine-year insurgency, which has sparked what the United Nations has called one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.

President Muhammadu Buhari dispatched his foreign and defense ministers on Wednesday to Yobe to investigate the situation, said Information Minister Lai Mohammed, who was also headed there. But he declined to confirm whether any of the students was missing.

A roll-call at the girls’ school on Tuesday showed that 91 students were absent, said the two people with direct knowledge of the matter.

“I saw girls crying and wailing in three Tata vehicles and they were crying for help,” said a witness from the nearby village of Gumsa who was reportedly forced to show the insurgents the way out of the area and then released.

Reuters was unable to verify the witness’s account. Nigerian police and the regional education ministry denied any abductions had taken place, but parents and other witnesses also told Reuters some girls were missing.

The two sources, several parents and other local witnesses who spoke to Reuters did so on condition of anonymity because they had been warned by Nigerian security and government officials not to disclose the disappearance.

Seven parents told Reuters their daughters were among the missing.

I fear that might actually be a positive outcome for them, I don't want to think what a terrorist group like that would do with a bunch of schoolgirls. Urgh...

No resources in Nigeria or Africa in general that are worth the war because

    1. Theres nothing really particularly special there that can't be acquired elsewhere
    2. Africa is an undeveloped shithole. America sent its troops into the middle east purely because if they didn't Iran or Saudi Arabia probably would've clamped down on them raping the middle east of its resources. Who is gonna do that with Africa? Thats right, no one.

Sorry Nigerian schoolgirls, you should've been born somewhere else.

Boko Haram has a serious school girl fetish. Not trying to be insensitive, it's just there's a fucking pattern. Big strong men of Allah and Jihad, going for the low hanging fruit.

It's a shame Nigeria still has to deal with Boko Haram and a lot of other baggage.

Nigerians come to America and thrive as doctors and nurses. Igbo parents put a lot on their children to succeed in America and it shows.

    Why's the link a rickroll?

Last I checked, Nigeria actually has the highest GDP of any Africa country due to their oil. Not that the US would want to send troops into Northern Nigeria because of that. Although Nigeria could benefit from some westernization and the US could benefit from having a close ally in West Africa.

Funny how the MSM never gave a shit about Nigeria and their Boko Haram problem, despite the frighteningly high death tolls.

Well, no duh. Their whole plan is to kidnap young girls and brainwash/groom them into brides. Boko Haram took a page out of ISIS' book and they want to establish an actual state. The best way to do that? Rape women and have children, creating your own generation of jihad extremists.

At first I thought this thread was a bump from the 2014 story, but it's very sad to see it's happening again. Many of the girls will be beaten, starved and basically forced to convert to Boko Haram's insane version of Islam, before some are released under ransom/military pressure and the rest are never heard from again.

Edit: Apparently this a rick roll or something.

So merely pointing such a truth out makes me a white supremacist troll?

Is CNN and BBC not MSM? Because a quick google search gives plenty of stories about it.
