I think someone got a little triggered over a person being pissed she lost in the "title" game.
Canadians read too many Tennisace threads and get salty when it doesn't come true.
Try reading the Olympic Charter.
Olympism is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining in a balanced whole the qualities of body, will and mind. Blending sport with culture and education, Olympism seeks to create a way of life based on the joy of effort, the educational value of good example, social responsibility and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles.
Sportsmanship is one of the principles of the games.

We are not talking about NHL games.
The thing I'd like to discuss is how Poulin didn't get a match penalty for a flying elbow on Decker's head. That's a multi-game suspension in the NHL. Then she gets a penalty drawn for trying to pull one of our D's sticks away, and falling over when it fails.
It doesn't make the shootout any better of a way to decide a championship if it's in a professional league or an international competition.
You are in the very small minority of people who think otherwise.

Should've been a penalty, but to be fair the NHL is really spotty with suspension lengths. Marchand has gotten warnings and single game suspensions for similar hits.

The thing with women's hockey is that it's not really a legitimate Olympic sport in that it is not, and never has been truly competitive. There are only two countries with a viable/competitive program - USA and Canada. The skill level between the two main countries and the rest of the countries is equivalent to an NFL football team playing a high school team. If you're playing for Canada or USA in women's hockey, you either win gold, or you finished last place for all reasonable purposes.
They probably should pull it out of the Olympics altogether, because it does not have the level of viable world competitiveness that meets the standard for it being a real Olympic sport. Of course, political correctness will prevent that from ever happening, because removing a women's sport while keeping the men's version (and men's hockey is highly competitive across 6-8 nations) would be derided as sexism, etc.
If those opinions are different than theirs, of course.
Ever to topic...
Sports Illustrated article about the incident.

@Tennis why are your country women so disrespectful?
There's such thing as a sore winner as well.
