How do you guys handle this for applying rupture to different targets, i find trying to click mobs to clunky does tabbing really work well? there a good way to macro this at all to make it less of a hassel?

I just use tab targeting. To my knowledge I don't think there's any kind of macro or addon that will tab target mobs you don't have certain DoTs on.
I usually use mouse over with having my nameplates on. However this is correct ^^^ using tab target works since it will always tab to the target which does not have rupture on it. You cant however select priority as to what target you want to rupture first (eg: say between target ABCD it will randomly swap from target A to either BCorD not letting u decide if u want to go in sequence of BCD.) So if you cant get around the mouse over ruptures on nameplates tab targeting can be pretty efficient.

i don't apply rupture to different targets. it's a waste of time with t21 4set.
But to answer your question. tab targeting is the way to do it. mouseover is possible - i think blizz even added a ui option somewhere in the default ui to enable it, so that's an option, but could be clunky.
Hrmm you sure that its a waste of time i seem to have having issues keeping up with aoe damage in mythics granted i don't have anyof the good leggos.
I'd suggest tab targetting and tidyplates with auras ON for better monitoring.
you coooooould try a mouseover macro. If you're showing nameplates with bleeds you can just hover over and apply rupture without swapping target. I just tab so no clue if this works.
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover] Rupture
If you have weak auras make a sizable rupture and garrote meter that you can see from the corner of your eye...when you tab target, if you see the meter, tab again til you dont and rupture. Garrote only 1 of the mobs, so that you'll know when you've gone full circle...that's how Ive been doing it and works well. I am interested to see if focusing down 1 mob rather than rupturing them all will grant me more dps though!
