Just like it was during the original Vanilla. Regarding characters on the same server:

PVE - yes
PVP - NO

On PVP, it can lead to annoying whispers or same faction griefing, if the right emo pleb gets pvp killed.

Anyone wanting to try the other side on PVP would simply roll on a different server.

Not in Vanilla they weren't. On PvP server u can only make 1 faction.

Yeah, on PvP servers, sure. On PvE servers, you could make both factions. The OP didn't even specify PvP or PvE when they made their post.

I don't care if they keep it the way it was or change it, but chances are they'll keep it the way it was.

To be honest, I would say no but I believe it'll serve the classic servers better to permit people to enjoy both sides.

I seriously can't decide...
On one side it's pretty fun when someone you've killed logs onto a char of the same faction only to shittalk you, but on the other hand it kinda ruins the immersion.

I remember back in vanilla deleting my 54 warrior cause I wanted to play with people I met on Alliance. Got to 50 on my rogue, then switched back to horde. I def think on pvp servers it should be 1 faction only. Ganking and camping is a much bigger thing, and honestly the toxicity behind swapping factions and bitching at people is not something I want to deal with. Your faction should be something you commit to, and if you change your mind, it should be a commitment.

I voted No, but I should add a caveat: Horde and Alliance chars should be allowed in PvE servers only, exactly like it was in Vanilla.
