For me the shows has its ups and downs, some times its rather good then it falls into bad teen fan fic level drama.
Had doubts about the show, but...damn me...I got sucked in. Been buying the dvds as soon as they come out.
As others mentioned, I had a hard time getting through season 1. In particular, I must have started and stopped the first episode... several times. I'd get to the part where a bunch of space born kids land on earth and run off into the woods as if they were all on MDMA or something; absolutely ridiculous start.
Now? Yeah, I'm a bit of a fan. Some parts are way too YA for an old man like myself but there's plenty of interesting stuff along the way that over ride it.
its not bad as long as you dont mind this formula each episode 'we are in the shit, what should we do?' clarke looks left and then right 'ok i can fix this'.
i actually enjoy the series i just think the clarke character shouldnt be there.
lol yeah, the people from skycrew are basically the bad guys of the entire series.
it is mainly fun though, the clarke godlike thing really hurts the series though
spoiler
the end of the last series she literally outlasted a deathwave that ended the world!

i quit s2 i think? maybe? i got tired of cliche's and dumb decision making, last straw though was the hot tribe leader chick being killed off ^_^

A: It's Skaikru, grounderspeak ftw. I agree on them being the bad guys though, I mean things have gone from bad to worse ever since they crashed, and it looks like this new season is going to be more of the same.
B: Tbh, Clarke fucks up just as much as any of the other characters, and far more than most. She wins out in the end through a combination of more skillful friends and the fact she's the main character, so she has a fair level of plot armor, this is no different to any other show though.
C: She survived because of the Nightblood. If any other Nightbloods had been outside, they would have survived too. That was literally the plan for the series, but plot happened and it didn't work out.
D: If you're going to post spoilers, type [spoiler] put the spoilers in here and then finish with [ /spoiler] if you do that it'll blank out the text you lost the game

Not going to lie, super hyped for S5. One of the few CW shows that is actually really good.

I couldn't even make it through the first season without canning it. How is this shit going on 5 seasons now?
Repetitive as shit show with an awful cast of actors and terrible trope-laden teen drama writing.
It's The Walking Dead for teenagers.

I've watched every episode, but that last cliffhanger was just... "Facepalm" is the only word I can use the describe it. I mean, how can you get back from that event? Like, it just doesn't make any sense. I'll most likely watch season 5, but I will probably see it more as a comedy show after that last one!

How far into season one did you watch? It takes a pretty large tonal shift about half way through the first season and season 2 in particular is some of the most engaging sci-fi TV I have ever seen. It's never going to be the best written or most intelligent series ever, but it is damn entertaining.
We tried season one 1 a few years ago but it was so teenagey that we quit after 2 episodes.
We ran out of stuff to watch a while back so gave it another go. Season 1 ended up entertaining enough. Season 2 was actually pretty cool, really enjoyed that.
We are now a few episodes into season 3 and it is getting so vague now. Does it get better? Is it worth trying to get through this part?
