They can smoke if they want, but just not around me, and definitely not in my home.

I hold the same stance regarding everything related to the actions of others and outcomes; as long as they keep proper etiquette and it does not bother anyone, then why should I not allow them to do something they enjoy?

Now if they decide to suddenly take out a cigarette while generally waiting outside in my presence, then I will promptly telepathically wish their appendix would burst. I would throw them out if they decide to take a smoke inside the home.
This applies to every inconvenience, whether it being smoking, drinking (different rules applies here) or behave in the public.
