    Azerite Armor - Boring Passives Confirmed.

    So here it is.

    The system everyone was hoping would fix the bland, hollow and pathetic Class Design currently on the Alpha.

    A bunch of boring passives. Re-hashed minor artifact and NLC traits.

    Demon Hunter (Forums, Talent Calculator, PvP Talent Calculator, Artifact Calculator)


    Tier 1
    Azerite Empowered (New) Increases the item level this item by 5.

    Tier 2
    Resounding Protection (New) Every 30 sec, gain an absorb shield for 0 for 30 sec.
    Vampiric Speed (New) When an enemy you damaged dies, you heal for 0 and gain 0 Speed for 6 sec.

    Tier 3
    Elemental Whirl (New) Your damaging abilities have a chance to grant you Elemental Whirl, increasing your Critical Strike, Haste, Mastery, or Versatility by 0 for 10 sec.
    Gutripper (New) Your damaging abilities have a chance to deal 0 Physical damage to the target. Gutripper occurs much more often against targets below 30% health.
    Winds of War (New) Taking damage grants you 0 Dodge for 3 sec, stacking up to 10 times.

    Tier 4
    Champion of Azeroth (New) Contributing to the death of an enemy of Azeroth heals you for 0 and grants you 0 Versatility for 60 sec, stacking up to 2 times.
    Devour (New) Using Demon's Bite 3 times in a row grants you 0 Mastery for 4 sec.
    Devour Name changed from "Seething Chaos" to "Devour". Chaos Strike generates 3 Fury over 3 sec, and increases your Critical Strike by 0 for 9 sec. Havoc Using Demon's Bite 3 times in a row grants you 0 Mastery for 4 sec.
    Haste Increases haste by 0.
    Revel in Pain (New) When Fiery Brand expires on your primary target, you gain a shield that absorbs up to 3 damage for 15 sec, based on your damage dealt to them while Fiery Brand was active.
    Revel in Pain Name changed from "Gaping Maw" to "Revel in Pain". Lesser Soul Fragments heal for 3% more, and Soul Cleave deals 0 additional damage. Vengeance When Fiery Brand expires on your primary target, you gain a shield that absorbs up to 3 damage for 15 sec, based on your damage dealt to them while Fiery Brand was active.

    Hey, look, all the "pessimists" (myself included) were right.

    These Azerite traits do not fill in the gap left open by the loss of 15 Artifact Normal Traits, 4 Golden Traits, 2 Legendaries and a Legendary Active.

    Classes, with rare exceptions, are absolutly INCOMPLETE without their artifacts.

    Ion is a fool in thinking "Legion class design stand on it's own and Artifacts are just nice additions".

    Really hope they have something more exciting planned for later tiers. There's not a single one I've seen so far that has any impact on gameplay besides giving you a bonus for things you're already doing, which means the shit-tier class design is going to be just as empty and bare as it is currently.

    These items look to just be the azerite armor from the world, probably similar to the class hall armor set you get in legion. I expect them to be boring. Hopefully the raid and dungeon ones are better.

    That said, yeah it's boring. I'll get more interested as we see more traits come out. I'm going to presume that at the moment this the "green tier" of leveling traits, with more elaborate stuff to come from more difficult content.

    Constructive feedback has all been said before.

    Legion Class Design cannot stand on its own two feet without Artifacts and 2 BiS legendaries to prop it up.

    5 months down with no real fixes made to class design. 5 months left for DRASTIC CHANGES.

    They look like weapon enchant procs and NLC traits.

    Boring ass passives that were supposed to fill the hole of:

    Artifact Ability, Full traits, 7.2 traits, NLC, relics, set bonuses.

    1. havent seen them all yet, we have seen 1-2 per spec...
    2. i dont think anyone who was smart suspected we would get actives... that would be changing buttons and rotations every single item obtain on those slots...
    3. i dont think anyone suspected MASSIVE gameplay changes, mostly just "teir set bonuses on talent choices"
    because i dont know about you ,but i rather not get a chest peice then go "AWW FUCK time to relearn my whole rotation..."

    also love how you made this account just to hide or get around a ban...

    OP has proven to be disingenuous by ignoring the fact this is one piece of armor with one set of choices. They already said at Blizzcon each gear will have its own choices and that the choices will be better depending on where the gear is acquired from.

    I reccomend reporting OP as he is definitely an alt account trying to get around a ban.

    Traits 2 and 3 are basically rehashed NLC garbage.

    You know - forgettable procs that don't impact gameplay at all.


    Trait 4 is basically a way weaker set bonus.

    OT: I don't know, I think some folks expected class-redefining stuff to pop up, and I don't expect this to be a thing until we see stronger pieces of azerite gear. My one point of feedback is pretty set in stone though; an ilvl upgrade for the last tier is pretty shit, especially because azerite levels are expected after X time, it's a one time flat increase on armor that I'd find really boring *if* it's going to be a mainstay on most gear.
