Exclamation You should be worried about BFA

    I'm very worried about BFA.

Blizzard seems very keen on updating models and giving us new playable races and they're selling it to us as if it's content but it's not. That is troublesome and here's why.

New models won't keep us satisfied when there's nothing to do in game, they will also not make classes less clunky and PVP more balanced. They're effectively investing too much resources into visuals and superficial content which for some will die in less than a week.

Classes feel overwhelmingly clunky and boring especially since they introduced their new GCD which serves no real purpose. Meanwhile they're busy drawing new models for irrelevant characters such as Rexxar and making Orcs stand upright as if that is something people actually want.

It's as if more than half the team is on drawing duty instead of actually developing anything.

AI islands are very trivial content which for some reason are being praised upon just because the NPCS can jump and use Polymorph. Please.

The faction war is a welcome change indeed and that is the only redeeming feature of the expansion so far, but instead of trying to build some real PVP content they're using those resources to build an WC3 simulator in game which is effectively PVE content. What's the point of going to war with random NPCS and fight for resources on islands against more NPCS?

It seems like Blizzard is selling Visuals as Content and people are buying it.

    What do you think?

The content speaks for itself. All I see is visuals. No substance to it

Honestly I think that the people that care about gameplay and clever game design have left the game years ago. The only people left are the people that are hopelessly addicted, the ones that just don't care or the new players that never experienced anything different.

Indeed. Look at the mmo-champion forums.. All you see is people discussing which new playable race should be introduced. They want to play as foxes and turtles so bad that they forget about discussing new and fresh content

    1) You have no idea how many people are working on what at Blizzard so just stop with the uninformed speculation.

    2) People did want upright orcs, new models and new races. New visuals are important to people or have you not heard that transmog is the true endgame?

    3) The new AI on the island is exciting because it means each time you play the expeditions the experience will be somewhat challenging AND different. That's huge.

    4) This is just your opinion, different people like different things.

Yes, Blizzard seems to spend too much time on useless content like new races, orcs visuals, new mounts, etc. but I don't see a lot of progress on useful development like balancing pvp, fixing class design, making professions engaging, etc.

Getting worried over video games is pretty bad advice.

It doesn't matter how many people are working on what. When all you see coming out are superficial content like upright orcs and ogre models instead of new features and class balance/design then you know something is wrong.

They're wasting their time and our money by drawing instead of developing

I like these people that come out of the wood works before expansions that shout doom and gloom leading up to the release. Get a life, you aren't doing anything new and all you're doing is making yourself look like a moron. Don't like how the game is going? Don't buy it.

Why do you care what I worry over?
They always told me I would miss my family... but I never miss from close range.

And yet they already nerfed it the island AI to appease mongos.

They haven't even implemented MANY talents....FFS the content is being designed and tested first then once the damn game works then they will start class passes in earnest. Anyone who has spent 10 seconds on alpha can tell this gimmie a break.

    Please.

This is the first time in countless expansions that they decide to leave class design to last while spending their time on superficial stuff like bloody fox models

Get a life yet you're the one spouting that it's just doom and gloom. Someone posts something that has been consistently shown in betas and ptrs and people like you with no life(as you want to seem to categorize people) come here with no recollection or just to be willfully blind and attack the person for posting something completely accurate historically.

Cosmetics are a very important feature for many players in this game, so it makes sense why blizz is making these sub-races especially since most of them probably don't take that much time to make. At this point in the game, I bet more players would be more excited at getting new races rather than a new class. Demon Hunters were not as popular as DKs were back in Wrath, relatively speaking. Yet you had hundreds to thousands of players within the first week of the pre-orders either creating an allied race right away or giving all that money to blizz to race change.

I'm playing WW on alpha and it feels the exact same with the GCD changes as it does on live. I'm not a broken fury warrior so it doesn't affect me.

    1) Yeah.. and that same line of bullshit was spouted by Blizzard fanbois like you before WoD launched.... remind me again how THAT went.....
    2) I have no qualms about the art team and devs using some time to create racial variations, time will tell if its at the expense of other content
    3) That remains to be seen
    4) Most people probably would enjoy a full scale expansion of a faction war... we just arent going to get it. It'll be 6-9 months of slap and tickle before "Insert generic ultra bad guy that forces us all to work together" shows up
