I've never ever been anything close to a regular smoker. However, there have been a couple situations in my past during which I would smoke:
- back in my "bar days" I would occasionally have a smoke while out drinking.
- almost every time I've done a hallucinogenic I would have a smoke, granted I mainly lit one for the tracers and not so much to smoke it.

I was a pack a day smoker since I was 17. Then I would say around 15 years ago I tried to quit. Used Chantix to help me but instead of smoking regular I switched to menthol. So Chantix failed me. About 6 years ago I tried again and I used the patch. SoB! It actually worked and I have not had one since. Even with my wife still smoking I have not had any issues.

So I am a QUITTER!

To me it's not absolutely no gain. I enjoy the taste, it's relaxing, and greatly reduced stress. That's benefit enough to make it worth the monetary cost and probably getting cancer at 70
