Option B) It is a regular item, they make profit on the microtransaction, and then donate a portion of their total profits to charity.

It is the same fucking money guy. Where do you think those billions of dollars are coming from? Blizzard doesn't have money trees at their HQ. That is customer money they get from selling products. They would be """relying""" on regular people either way. The only difference is that instead of making say, a few hundred thousand dollars on a skin, they set it up to go directly to the charity instead of into their profits and a direct donation--encouraging people to spend money for a good cause.

And then they literally credited the community five fucking times for the money.
Not to mention, Actiblizz does do their own charity as well, hell I didn't even know about this til I did a search but it's pretty cool https://www.callofdutyendowment.org/

And this is how avoid taxes, guys. I wonder how much connection are there between the company owners. BCRF cannot show up anything anyway. So it is just a money sink.

Funny how the vast majority of gamers are male and yet we're paying 12 million into breast cancer research, when does the one for prostate cancer come out? I mean, womens cancer research already receives 15 times more funding than mens and for the first time ever this year, prostate cancer has killed more men than breast cancer has killed women so yeah, can the people who ya know, pay for the video games, design the games, market the games have their little time in the sun too with a nice little injection into the ass cancer research.....thanks.
Love the ladies but seriously, every cancer charity is either ovarian or breast and men are like the health food stall in the fast food court.

It's cute that you think men are the vast majority of gamers. Also spot on thinking that breast cancer only effects women, men have a 1in1000 chance to get breast cancer in their lifetimes, so while not on par with women getting it it can also effect them. Women also die younger from breast cancer in general then men do from prostate cancer. If you want to donate money to prostate cancer research no one is stopping you. This was a charity effort to donate money to a different type of cancer then what you wanted, sorry it doesn't meet your misogynistic MRA standards.

Please don't turn this into a prostate vs breast cancer debate.

Im sorry, did you just gloss over the fact that it receives 15 times more funding because it lets you rant on about a 1 in 1000 chance of men and breast cancer....a 0.10% chance XD And do you know why older men die from prostate cancer.......because a younger man is more likely to be affected by testicular cancer until, you guessed it, they get older and prostate cancer becomes more prominent.
Im sorry facts dent your ego so much but yes, its quite common that men dominate the gaming industry, look at each blizz reveal of new games, its not women who are the game directors, look at the top competitive gaming teams, its not women on the teams, so again, leave the ego at the door because the facts really dont care how you feel.

So donate to prostate cancer research then, you are free to donate to whoever you want to. Blizzard chose a different path than you would've. Stop crying on here, bye

I believe I'm free to point out hypocrisy where I like, thank you very much. No surprise the "sit down and shut up" argument is coming from a Swede.

Yeah they definitely left out a lot of "Community Creations"

Either way, great cause, great skin. I hope they do more in the future.

    In the UK 2016/17:
Cancer Funding (£mil) Deaths Deaths per £100k Classed as
    Lung 43.4 35620 82 Unfunded
    Colorectal 34.7 16384 47 Funded
    Breast 32.8 11563 35 Funded
    Prostate 22.4 11631 52 Funded
    Leukaemia 18.1 4717 26 Funded
    Pancreatic 17.2 9263 54 Unfunded
    Brain 13.5 5250 39 Unfunded
    Ovarian 13.0 4227 33 Funded

So despite having a higher death rate to funding than brain cancer, prostate cancer is still classed by cancer research uk as having enough funding.

I would think some of the research would be cross compatible.

The problem is diminishing returns. Once you get to the higher ends of what is possible, every breakthrough, every development, takes more money to achieve. It boils down to how each dollar could be used most effectively and what your priorities are. The masculine cancers (testicular and prostate) are highly treatable, therefore the emphasis is on awareness and early diagnosis, to the point that you are significantly more likely do die with prostate cancer than because of prostate cancer. Breast cancer, on the other hand, is far more likely to kill you. That skews the priorities (rightly so imho).
