    Game OST?

Anybody here have some good game related OSTs they really enjoy?

I myself love movie and game soundtracks and newer games and many movies have excellent ones.

But I still have a soft spot for some older games.

    Example:

    Or perhaps

    How about you?

The Mass Effect 3 OST is great. It is used in a lot of other mediums. Other than that, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie and Super Mario 64 have amazing soundtracks.

If you're never going to play it and don't mind quasi spoilers then you'd likely enjoy the dream sequences.

When I played it I had a 5.1 digital sound system connected in a silent house. There was one sequence where the ambience was an inn with people clanging mugs together and I actually thought someone was behind me at one point due to the high fidelity of the audio.

Although I've never played the game, I listen to the OST every so often to study

Not a game, but the OST of Memoirs of a Geisha is just astounding. In movies anything by Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, Benjamin Wallfisch and John William is just beautiful.

Also, when I listen to this the nostalgia just eats me

The dot hack games both original and GU,God of War 3 and most Final Fantasy games have great soundtracks. WoW has a fairly good one as well.

Far too many to go into depth, so I'll list a few of my favorites from off of the top of my head.

    • Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire (Rustboro city, Oceanic Museum, Route 110, the flight theme from ORAS)
    • Final Fantasy XII - (Upheaval, Esper battle, Theme of the Empire
    • Shadow of the Colossus
    • The Banner Saga

But my most favorite video game soundtrack of all: Trails of Cold Steel

From the relaxing after hours beat of running around town, meeting up with friends:

    Spoiler:

To the entrancing beat of fighting otherworldly beings

    Spoiler:

To the melancholic, yet beautiful tune of walking through a once proud city whose golden age has long since past:

    Spoiler:

To my most favorite boss battle theme of all time for how uplifting it is (tied with Great Awe from Trails in the Sky)

    Spoiler:

Am I the only one who is getting EMIYA vibes here? At the 1:10 mark

    Spoiler:

I feel like I can take on ANYONE. For the Emperor! For Erebonia!

Star Ocean: The Second Story is the top of my list, I think.

edit: I'm...actually not sure about that first track. I don't remember it, for some reason. It sounds more like an anime intro or something. :|

11:47 and 18:25 are my favorite tracks.

    Couple of other favorites:

    Breath of Fire 3

    Brave Fencer Musashi
