That stupid foldable lightsaber only exists so that disney can sell more toys. It's disgusting.
*shrugs*
The script and acting can be total shit.
But Disney fanbois will be just that.

The script and acting can be total awesomesauce.
But Disney haters will be just that.
And then there's people who don't operate in extremes and will pass judgment on a film after they see it.

Lol right? Damn, Kashykk (sp?) would have been so much better AND made more sense.
People should have seen the signs in RotJ and known that drek would follow. Sadly, I fell for it and was one of the first to be disappointed by Episode 1... literally one of the suckers that went to a midnight showing.
Ive thought of that but I'm stuck on the possession/clone theory since Sidious is pulling the strings.
Rey's 'pull to the dark side' is also a plot device used for everyone who has touched a lightsaber. Movie characters, cartoons, books, all of them do the 'ooo they are being pulled to the dark side' thing. It's there favorite red herring that's only played itself out full a handful of times.

I'm not entirely against the clone thing, I just don't think we're going to have multiple Reys. I think there might have BEEN multiples, but the others all failed for some reason, and Rey's the only one that's viable.

I really don't think he was; it's fairly clear his appearance takes on that wizened look after he pulls too much in that one fight.
Objectively false. Selectively reading my posts to support your bitching doesn't really qualify as posting in good faith.
But your spazzing at me is besides the point. Passing judgment on a film after you see it makes a lot more sense then calling it shit or a masterpiece before you see it. This statement does not become false because you can't get past your misconceptions about me.
Actually I like the idea of an evil Clone Rey. Imagine all the crazyness as they switch places. They keep kidnapping each other to spy on the other team. This is pure gold.
I mean, I don't think anyone is arguing that TLJ is the shining gem of the series. That's ESB. TLJ has a lot of issues with pacing and framing, and some silly conceits (slow-flying "bombers" trying to carpet-bomb a ship, slow chase scene through space when you've got energy weapons), but even the latter are largely down to trying to use WWII-era tactics translated into space, where they never really work, not a problem unique to Star Wars and definitely not the first time it's cropped up in Star Wars. The idea that a single exhaust port in a structure the size of the Death Star leads right into the core without any obstruction, for instance, is colossally dumb, but that was the finale in ANH. Yes, Rogue One tried to fix it, but that we NEEDED Rogue One to fix it, and that it went unfixed for nearly 40 years without much complaint makes the complaints about TLJ more than a bit silly. See also Lucas forgetting that "parsecs" are a unit of distance and having to retcon THAT multiple times to try and retroactively make it not-stupid.
I don't agree that TLJ is the worst film in the franchise; TPM takes that, by a really wide margin. I'd probably peg TLJ higher than any of the prequels, but part of that is admittedly the stink of TPM affecting the others.
Does any of this have anything to do with Disney? For fucksakes, no. I'll criticize Disney plenty. They're not the problem with Star Wars. The "worst" things they're doing are things Lucas was always doing, even with the original trilogy.
Well, clones would fit in...connecting to the other "Clone" movie.
Not sure that such would be a good movie to refer back to however.
I'd be way in for a Rey going darkside scenario, that kind of ballsy writing would save this series for me. It would tie well into TLJ which was just awful and improve it overall.
But im extremely pessimistic, mainly because of Disney and their marketing.
Still, the set piece of fighting on the remains of a Deathstar kind of has me all in for this. I really wasn't before, but that looks enticing.
TPM had pod racing and Darth Maul.
That alone is cooler than anything in TLJ. Also it doesnt have dogs running away from a casino. Or Leia turning into Jean Grey
So yeah.
The hype continues.
