They weren't. Trump has been investigated numerous times by law enforcement in the past. This is New York we're talking about: Corruption is quite rife.

It's becoming clearer that the various legal procedures mounting for Mr. Trump will take on this generally trajectory because it's literally the manner in which everyone is triangulating their shots. This is the slow simmer before a full blown RICO case is made and they take the head shot.

That's how it looks right now anyway. This other article combined with the videos above would seem to indicate that this is what is going on. And these various attorneys are all cool as cucumbers, not showing their hands until its truly time to reveal what they have and take down the bad boy. And then it will be too late for Trump to pull most of his usual bullshit.

At some point even his base has to realize that this one guy surrounded by corruption is himself hardly the one squeaky clean one among them - instead he's their ringleader and Putin's puppet.
