It's because the criminals will remain loyal while they can run amok and loot while they can.

Former Bill Clinton Attorney supports Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court. And some of you guys should like this video because he also mentions Garland along with Kavanaugh as being the two most qualified judges in the country.

http://video.foxnews.com/v/583242991...#sp=show-clips tip on the video, there is some delay before it starts.

But the Democrats are going to have to put up with another conservative Justice, just like the Republicans have had to put up with Ginsberg for years now. Piss and complain all you want, but he will be sitting on the Supreme Court bench come October, when they come back from recess.

I didn't think it could ever be done, but Trump has managed to nominate someone even more ridiculously unqualified to serve as a Supreme Court justice than Harriet Miers (Bush Jr. nominee).

Did Ginsburg ever perjure herself multiple times? Because that's the only way these two judges are comparable. And if you don't see that, you are either incapable of understanding or don't want to understand the difference.

We sometimes see what we want to see. And it works both ways. But no matter, get use to him being on the Supreme Court. I think Garland will one day sit on the Supreme Court when the Democrats take back the White House and the Senate.

No that is not the way reality works he did perjure himself in the past there's paperwork to prove it and he did in this confirmation those are facts. I don't understand with the thinking that him being confirmed absolves him. We all know he will get confirmed I am actually fine with that because elections have consequences but let's not pretend he isn't lying.

One of the rare times I agree with you. He's going to make it and the Dems aren't going to impeach him nor will they expand the size of the Supreme Court. We're going to have to live with a 5-4 conservative SCOTUS until one of the right wingers retires or dies.

The only hope we have is they respect precedent and leave key liberal gains like Rowe and gay marriage intact, as they should.

If they were going to do that, they wouldn't have been preselected by the "conservative" groups.

This is not the fantastic defense you think it is. Whether or not he legally committed perjury is not terribly relevant. The article still puts forward an argument he lies during the hearings which in any sane administration would disqualify him from the position.

But all 5 of them would have to go against precedent. And I'm hoping they just decide to punt on the issue over and over rather than make that sort of decision. All it takes is one to look at the situation and be "you know, I don't want this to be my legacy" and we're fine.

But I admit, I'm not exactly thrilled at the odds given who the five in question are.

They will not repeal Roe there are tons of cases that will give them the opportunity to gut it without doing that. Roe will exist in name only, the same goes for LGBTQ rights, environmental laws and corporate corruption.

Yeah, I can see them chipping away at Rowe, Row, Roe...*googles* ok....Roe... Apparently somehow I forgot how that's actually spelled.

Anyway, yeah, they can allow all sorts of workarounds that conservatives have been pushing. I'm also super worried about what'll happen with Gerrymandering now.

I'm less concerned about the LGBT issue -- mainly because I think even the conservative justices are aware that 1) overturning or otherwise restricting gay marriage would create a legal nightmare for people who have already been issued marriage licenses and 2) this issue is increasingly supported by the populace. Abortion has always been controversial but gay rights is now quite solidly in the majority support. Where I see the potential dangers here is allowed so-called religious freedom exemptions which would be abused to all hell by bigots.

Which is a shame because the mind blowing hypocrisy of the religious freedom crowd is hard for me to accept without wanting to throw things.

That is absolutely not how it works. A crime is a crime.

This isn't "I don't like the black guy so I'll call him a criminal who needs impeached" bull shit republicans pulled. This is someone who committed multiple actual crimes on the books.

I agree the avenue that they will take is to allow discrimination in the name of religious freedom, also Ginsberg will probably not last through the Trump administration so a 6-3 court is a possibility. I think at this point democrats will receive major backlash in 2020 if they don't pack the court to reverse the damage these religious extremists will do to minority, women and voting rights.

If the dems have any balls, they either impeach him or stack the court.

Agreed, they have all they need to impeach him now with what all has came out and Gorsuch has already proven mentally unfit for the job as him and the other conservative justices ruled that US workers have no right to due process against their employers 3 months ago.

If they don't remove both of them and invalidate any precedence set by any of their cases or at the very least pack the court they are useless.

At that point, they are proven to be spineless and honestly complicit in this as nothing but a throwaway party who's purpose is to make the Republicans more tolerable to the public with less of a chance of them revolting thinking they have another option when they really didn't.
Since we can't call out Trolls and Bad Faith posters and the Ignore function doesn't actually ignore it. Add
    "mmo-champion.com##li.postbitignored"
to your ublock or adblock filter to actually ignore ignored posters. Now just need a way to ignore responses to them as well.

Do you remember what the republicans did when Obama wanted to nominate a moderate justice?

Democrats game has been "work together and compromise maybe they'll see the light" and republican game has been "fuck them all to hell"
