The is the correct answer. The problem isn't that it drops 340. The problem is that it drops a guaranteed 340 every single time, and can be spammed as many times as you can humanly do em. Gear sources should either a) have some sort of lockout, or b) not guarantee loot every single time.

I'm grateful for the catchup mechanics on gear. I wish there were more like it. For people like me there is only progression raiding. I dont want to spend time doing anything else, I dont enjoy anything else. The quicker I can get a toon raid ready, the more likely I am to continue playing. The more alts I have that are raid ready, the more likely I won't cancel my sub.

How exactly is anything you get by doing Warfronts the "best gear"?

Also why controlling faction has so little to do? Just rares, boring quests and wait 2 weeks for reset? Sound awful, meanwhile horde gears up alts and gets them freebies.

The freebies are hardly a substitute for mythic dungeons in terms of efficiency; besides they are only 340.
They are probably preparing us for the next WF to get released, when we will be contributing for the new one, while defending the old one.

I don't see enough people bothered when the same thing happens for M0 where players ask for 340 to join content that drops 340.

And yes I agree there should be a 340 cap. If new players want to push itemlevel they can go through the same paths as everyone else. Normal>HC>LFR/M0>WF.

Or they can play 2s and 3s and BGs which also works fine.

I don't agree with complaining how the game is ez mode and boring and then we give free welfare loot to the masses.

There are more subtle ways that blizzard can use to maintain the subs.

because there people just want a fast or smooth run, this is the same as making lfr require 340 when it drops 340
