The overwhelming majority of studies done on the topic have shown that right-wingers are significantly more likely to be friends with and associate with people of different views, whilst left-wingers are more likely to cut contact and to place themselves in echo-chambers. Granted, you probably haven't seen those studies promoted because you are likely to only listen to people who agree with you.
