Yes please, get valor back, get rid of titanforging, getting worse rewards than others running the same content getting the same item because of random RNG is the most stupid thing in this game, along with all the welfare heroic level gear.

valor was a better catch up mechanic than garrisons ever were.

MoP gear progression was probably the pinnacle imo

Yes. Was a tangible reward that one could accrue week in and week out, even if RNG didn't go your way.

People, if you compared the bottom and top 10% maxlevel characters based on how much they have played and how much content they've done, do you actually think that they are anywhere close in ilvl? I think the hatred for xforging doesn't really have a good basis.

Yes. So far, it was the best working form of bad luck protection. It could use some tweaks, because the gear from it usually was lackluster at best. Personally, I would increase the possible selection of gear, even if the gear was more expensive a piece (or the price increased each time an item was bought), so that it could be a strong way of bad luck protection, without it being a primary way of gearing (because, honestly, I do not want to farm myself to death and back again). Right now, if gear doesn't drop, or what drops is simply massivelly misspecced, there's nothing you can do about it (my first three weeks of mythic+ ended up that way).
Maybe there could be a way to include scrapping, in a similar way that obliterating PvP gear worked in Legion? (not sure whether it does in BfA, I didn't PvP in this expansion yet).

You are not forced to do shit. You choose to do it. It's not like you will die if you don't do +10 for a month. So your argument is completely invalid. Try again.

I liked it, and I like the similar Tomestone system that FF XIV has that feels like a direct rip from WotLK/Cata days of justice/valor points.

For the casual player Valor felt like more of a grind and was very unpopular for them. Titanforging feels awesome for them and is very popular.

I, as Mythic raider, actually prefer it this way too. If I'm honest. Valor was just one more thing that I felt compelled to do each week. This way if I get a nice TF item I get a nice TF item, if I don't I don't, and like I said it's fun for the overwhelming majority of players (the casuals) and it doesn't take anything away from me.

Why? This site is largely for more hardcore players and responses to any poll are going to be indicative of that. That's why anything this community claims it wants and what Blizzard actually does are often at odds.
Because it was very long time ago and it is nice to see that people actually remember such a small game details. I am sure a lot of players (hardcore or not) loved this type of gearing and it's sad that this system is replaced with Kazino..

If it was a popular feature amongst the not-hardcore it would still be in the game. =)

Fuck yeah I miss it, I have probably the worst luck known to mankind when it comes to loot, so it'd be a lot fucking better personally if I could grind tokens and atleast have a set goal in mind.

Not really, RNG casino means higher player retention because people will spend FAR longer just farming for gear now since everything can potentially titanforge to BiS.

    Nope. Totally irrelevant currency

The old system would be perfect if it followed the old conquest model of an escalating cap to remove the artificial pressure of getting your cap every week or losing out.

There was nothing wrong with VP, and I wouldn't mind if it was reimplemented. But I still think that Reforging was a far neater feature.

I consider myself a casual player, but I'll define that as "someone that does not push mythics or raid above LFR". I'm online aplenty, I just don't have reliable groups to do these activities with, don't want to leave my current guild, and I'm not sure I want to devote the time/energy on such things anyway.

The flip side of that though - I find myself in a weird place. My main is sitting at like 351 or something in tank gear. If I want better gear, I would have to push mythics or raid above LFR; heroics don't give me anything at this point. But since I'm doing neither of those, I also kind of don't need better gear anyway... but gearing up is kind of what you do in a game like this.

If we had the old valor system with the 7 dungeons/week cap it would give me a reason to do heroics. Instead, I find myself working on alts, finishing off rep grinds, chasing old chieves, etc. Not that I dislike doing any of these things, but sometimes I just want to work on my main and my investment interest only goes so high up the difficulty chain

This is funny. Back in the day the fad was to hate on those currencies and now suddenly everyone loves them. Really makes you think twice before taking anything forum warriors write seriously. I wouldn't mind valor points / emblems, but if I had to choose, I would pick the current systemover that. So it is a "no" from me.

One of the biggest problems with badge systems is that you no longer really care what drops in the dungeon itself, you just farm X of them to get enough badges and you're done. As much as I loved Wrath for example, the system which just made you not care about loot from bosses was a big downside. It's a hundred times better when the items in heroic dungeons are buffed, like we had in Legion, to make them relevant. At least that way you are still looking forward to a drop, instead of mindlessly farming shit and then going to a "Gear shop" to spend emblems/vp.

I am with you on that, I disliked when they brought in these currencies in as it then became a chore because you always had that sense if one did not cap their points for that week you were going to be behind..

And so to that end I am glad they got rid of those currencies.. And on the island expeditions I don't even do those any more..
