Get ready for rift mobile. Use your planaar gems to draw souls to fight for you, but if you run out of gems or energy just wait 24 hours or drop some money wise consumer

Having any and all attempt at discussion of the issues shut down by the usual suspects as "the hating trolls" can probably get a nice heap of the blame. Insert "This is fine" dog here with a trion icon for a face.

RIP Rift, even tho you were already dead ages ago

The other games under trion are probably even more dead so who cares really, new dudes will probably just use assets and delete these wastes of space. $$$$$$$$$$$$

Community Manager Fasti has posted a Rift letter and i assume this is the Gamigo plan, nothing set in concrete but was mention of "working out the details on what future content updates will look like", what these entail remains to be seen.

    RIFT Team Letter - November 8, 2018

    Greetings Ascended,

We appreciate your patience as we take some time to solidify plans moving forward. There are a ton of moving parts involved in the transition from where we were to where we want to go, and it’s going to take us a bit of time to navigate all of the changes required to keep Telara and its denizens happy with the world we’ve called home for so long.

With our smaller team we’re still working out the details on what future content updates will look like. While plans are being made for the future, we’re going to be focusing the team on implementing Quality of Life improvements for RIFT in the short term.

We can’t share specifics yet because there's still work being done behind the scenes to build a strong foundation for the future. It’s on this foundation that all future updates will be built. This includes examining the health of our shard populations and looking at ways to make sure all of our players have the best possible experience in game.

If you have specific feedback on the kinds of quality of life changes you’d like to see, be sure to share them with us! It would be very helpful to get a sense for what you feel are your main pain points.

We just wanted to take another moment to thank you for your patience as we’ve been working behind the scenes to get things stabilized. More news will be coming down the road so please bear with us a while longer.

Ouch. Sounds like barely anything will be going on.

Just some QoL crap. I mean what can you do on a team of 25 devs?

Yeah safe to say Rift isn't being taken down but it's definitely worse off now.

At this point better off just reducing the shards to one each region.

Surprised it took them this long to post THAT though. I mean that could have been posted within a day or two of everything happening. It's a barebones statement at best.

Seriously, only thing worse than this "team" letter are people with various forms of autism still posting there, making demand lists (lol), blabbering about fragments, talking to gamigo about "gameplay over money", asking for new.....raids (seriously lol), all of that with a completely straight face. It is almost unbelievable. But I guess if they were incapable of realizing where Rift was going, even after this expected bankruptcy, there is really no hope for them.

That kind of sounds like the same soft maintenance as FFXI.

To me, that letter just looks like someone blowing smoke up their community's butt. This could have been stated within a few days. Trove, Archeage got letters first and had more direction. This is just hot air.

Pretty obvious server mergers incoming. How they'll even do that with no devs on their team - think Rift has one or two guys assigned?

Any game would be lucky to be in "maintenance mode" like FFXI. It's better supported than some active titles >.>

True but the specifics of it is basically summed up with "games online but never expect another expansion".

To be fair though says a lot when a game like FF11 is in a better state than Rift though.

Bit of a derail, but FFXI has recovered from Maint mode, not only have SE employed more developers for the game. They are having their first Fanfest since 2012 next month where there is a lot of hype for a big reveal. Yoshi has also confirmed the game is back to being profitable.

I wish Trion was the kind of company to put their product and their customers before profit margins, but here we are.

Things are starting to move a bit quicker, following on from the letter from Fasti, Rift just got a new letter from a new member of the Rift Team, AnneBonny.

    Meet the new Community team!

    Greetings,

First of all, we would like to apologize for the silence lately, there were a few things we needed to figure out before jumping into the conversation. Thank you all so much for your patience!
Of course, we know that you all have concerns and many questions. We have been silent, but we have been doing a lot of reading during this transition. Let’s start with responses for a couple of your biggest questions and concerns.

What will the future look like for the games?

We saw many questions asking about the future of these games. Those questions are largely about new content, fixes to existing bugs, and the changes to the Trion staff members. For sure we kept the necessary resources to ensure that there is movement within and around the games.
Generally speaking, we can tell you that the patch schedule is likely to shift somewhat, but we will make sure that all of you can enjoy new content on a regular basis. Also, the developers will continue providing you with updates through Producer letters, so all of you will have a little look behind the scenes as well.

    Patron Status & Creator Programs

Patron Status will stay in place and we do not intend to shut it down. However, we are putting the Creator Program on hold for the time being. Effectively managing a program of that size was a huge task and we want to be sure that if we launch the program again down the road it will be a great experience for everyone. Therefore, we will revisit this in the weeks ahead and keep all of you updated on our progress. Thank you for your understanding.

New languages available soon to support you!

Something we’re thrilled to announce is that in the coming weeks we are going to implement German and French Customer Support and Community Management. You can contact all of us in English, of course, but we believe that giving you the possibility to express yourselves in your native language is always better. On the same note, we do not rule out adding additional languages down the road.

Some more surprises are coming, but we don’t want to spoil those quite yet! We still want to give you a small hint: communication, support and entertainment are our three main concerns and you can count on some changes and improvements in this direction.

We are all gamers and we understand how important transparency and open-mindedness are, so please feel free to raise your concerns and suggestions, we will do our best to make this community stronger than ever!

Long story short: we are happy to be here and if you have any question, feel free to post them as a comment to this thread. Each Community Manager is going to introduce himself/herself on Monday personally.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

So....still nothing concrete, no plans released but they assure us of "regular content", more Dev interaction and information, more Community Managers apparently, probably dedicated ones for each game, time to keep waiting and see what's the next step.

This is just fucking grim to watch. This kind of info could have been published within a few days and it took them this long.

Hopefully this CM "Annebonny" doesn't listen to the damn white knights like Seshatar and Holyroller and actually takes feedback into consideration. Just ignore them. Their fucking attitude and feedback is what Trion designed around and why the game went to shit. People with the "this is fine" attitude to content being a mess or blatant P2A.

However with how weak these past 2 responses are it doesn't matter since we are not getting any meaty content for a while.

This game right now is literally in the same state as Wildstar was a while ago. Skeleton dev team and we now gonna see really small content updates.

So in other words, There won't be any content updates worth noting and the game is due to be shutdown within a year.
