I don't feel sorry for these guys. The big Diablo announcement is a reskin of an existing Netease game, and when a fan of a franchise that is primarily PC-based asked, "Any plans for a PC release?" the answer is not "What? Don't you guys have phones?"

Where has he been the last 3 years then? A paid for necro patch in almost 4 years since RoS and very rarely changing the seasonal gear, I wouldn't call that a good game nor saving it.

It was still much worse during release... so damn bad.

They made it playable. Sure, it's not something you can play all the time, but it's decent to go back to every several months, for at least a few weeks. I tend to hit every 3rd or 4th season.

The problem with this idea is the same that plagues the movie industry.
The initial hype suffices+sells suffice to make a successful movie, not creating a good movie itself.

This is why shit like remakes and spinoffs have become to common, people just buy it due the name, not because of the quality, and sadly movie makers have adapted to this.

If you think something is not good, then don't buy, if i buy a book, i'm still giving money to the people that made it, whether i enjoyed it or not is irrelevant from a financial PoV.
This keeps repeating until enough people say "no thanks" and want to see quality before buying it.

I did feel sorry for the Guys on stage BUT they should have known that a mobile game being the main headline for Blizzcon wasn't going to go down well at all. They say they are working on multiple Diablo project so they should have teased something right at the end.

They didn't have a major announcement this year worth closing the opening ceremony with. I think they would have gotten less backlash if they just mentioned that D4 was in development but they weren't ready to showcase anything and just left it at that, and just announced Immortals as a little side feature that people could play "while on mobile"

In my experience most people have been supportive of him and sympathetic with the plight he was forced into here; but it still doesn't feel good to hear the department/ip you're responsible for getting boo'd/dead silent applause even if ultimately it wasn't his decision.
