I’m a millennial... I’m just also part of the might-as-well-be-white Asian minority... does that make me oppressed? I’m confused on the message :P

The whole, "do kids even follow politics" make it worse.
Say there was a little Mexican kid in the school, they just ruined this kids year at the very least.
A bunch of school kids see their teachers mocking the Wall, oh its open season on the Mexican kid regardless of the intentions of the teachers.
How many ways do you they can tell that kid to get behind the Wall? They'll the kid they don't belong in the US (regardless of the kid being a citizen or not), making the kid feel ashamed of something they can't control.
God forbid one of the kids has someone at home who a little too into "MAGA" because that kid is going to come to school packing the worst of the worst comments without even half way understanding what they are saying.
Also kids aren't deaf. I remember in elementary we knew that Bill Clinton got in trouble because of a blowjob even though we didn't even know what that meant. Probably drove out teachers insane.

Like I said, administration will end up caring. Enough parents are actual advocates for their kids, and challenging teachers is really in vogue now. I wouldn't be surprised if some honors white kid's mom makes a stink given these teachers' lack of professionalism. It opens them up to a ton of bias concerns and gives a helicopter mom an opening to question them constantly.
What a bunch of fucking morons.
A joke doesn't stand as a joke just because it's claimed to be one. And if it is one, it can be labelled a stupid one. That's how this works. Stop being so snowflakeish about it and deal with it.
Also, "adhering to their own culture" vs. mocking a culture are different things, but I suspect that may be a little too advanced of a concept for you to contemplate.
