Lol, when I read this topic, I thought it was a spam bot about a gay porn website.
The most interesting comment so far is confirmation that Wintergrasp will indeed be returning as an epic battleground 'soon'.
That's pretty positive.
I guess we really are going to switch to N'Zoth at the end here. Huh.
@Maarius Did you see this one?
Jeremy Feasel : Of course! We are still thinking about the detailed operation of Nazjatar , but I can give you an example. One of the things we love on the island of frozen time is the rare system . Some come very rarely and have great loots on them. Some ask that something special be done to invoke them. These are the things that inspire us.
This allows you to be in the zone and sometimes be surprised by an event you did not expect. A very rare monster arrives, and everyone in the area goes crazy and gathers to fight a monster.
One of the ideas you had that we talked about. Pretty neat.

Man... Timeless Isle sounds a lot better as Island of Frozen Time!
Jeremy Feasel : The island exploration AI is a real experience , and at the beginning of its design, we tried to implement it everywhere. For example, we wondered what would happen if a boss used the AI, then groups of 10 NPC for example. One of the things we wanted to do at the beginning was to test the AI and fix the bugs. So what we did was send two groups of NPCs with AI into the Arathi Basin.
For a moment, we watched them run, take points, fight. We then wondered how to make them behave a little more like players. So, several employees made us returns. They told us that AI had to follow them when jumping off the cliffs using Slow Waterfall. When you think about it, it's true that that's what players do! (Laughter)
What we were told most was that AI had to jump. Players are jumping all the time. So we created a variable that could be adapted to control the degree of "jumpability" of different NPCs. Finally, this is the main aspect that differentiates you from a mob.
Then they were taught to disengage the fight and then put them on the islands. But it was really funny to play them in the Arathi Basin. Moreover, from patch 8.1.5, it will be possible to play in the battlefield against AI ! The system is still in its infancy and it will be very interesting to see where all this leads us.
This is.... interesting though. What if they did spread the use of AI in to other parts of the game? If BG queues are taking too long, would adding in a few AI be a good thing? A detriment? What if AI players were wandering the world in War Mode? It would certainly made the world feel more populated, albeit artificially.
