"Objectification" - Not A Serious Concept

It's often said that women are the gatekeepers to sex but men are the gatekeepers to commitment.

What is "objectification" (of women specifically)? It's nothing but a way to shame straight men because they find a woman sexy enough to fuck, but aren't necessarily interested in having a serious relationship with that same woman...

It is highly heterophobic first of all, I've never once in my life seen it used against gays objectifying men or lesbians objectifying women.

Women who complain about being objectified are pretty much the female equivalent of a male incel. Male incels think they're entitled to sex. Anti-objectification women think they're entitled to commitment. Male incels complain about the friend zone (i.e. a woman who wants to hang out with you but not romantically), anti-objectificators complain about what I like to call the fuck zone (being seen as a fuck buddy but not serious relationship or marriage material).

Now of course another thing both have in common is a total lack of self-reflection.

Men are not sex-crazed animals, they will respond with commitment IF your personality is good. So if you're only viewed as a "sex object" the problem is you, ladies.

Can you debunk anything I've said? Simply calling someone a troll doesn't make him a troll.

The reason you object to the concept is that you don't understand it.

Objectification isn't about "finding someone sexy enough to fuck". It's about considering human beings not as human beings, but as (inanimate) objects - without feelings, intellect, or any other property associated with sentient life. Usually it's used metaphorically, i.e. that you see something as an object whose most important properties (to you) are generally not cognitive in nature.

If you think it's okay to treat a human, ANY human, as a thing devoid of mind, then I don't know what to say.

Now, what you can argue with is how the term is APPLIED. It's one of those concepts that's readily evoked left and right without much critical thought, and that, of course, is something you shouldn't do, period. For basically anything.

So, critique it that way: say "<insert action/view/whatever> isn't objectifying because <insert well thought-out, reasonable argument>" instead of just going "lol objectification isn't serious".

I don't care about the concept of objectification. People like seeing pretty things. It's hardwired into us. Actually going against that is more strange.

It’s not about debunking anything it’s about you posting a controversial subject in order to create shit.

    For the “lulz” no doubt.

Hey why don’t I make a thread about eugenics, but i write the post in a way that seems to only ask questions that seem intelligent.

Fuck you, we both know what you’re doing.

There's already a word for that: Insane.

Seriously name me an example of one man who is sane, doesn't have a single digit IQ, and thinks women are not human beings but objects.

You don’t know what objectification is.

Well it could also be that you're bitter. Maybe you're one of these women who can't ever keep a man close and can't make him commit.

I know what is it and most importantly I know how it's used in practice to demonize aspects of straight male sexuality like attacking prostitution industries, porn or being against sexy women in video games (Anita Sarkeesian)

No you really have no idea, also your perspective on men is ridiculous and overly righteous whilst spiting women so you’re a clear incel.

You’re basically pretending sexual crimes against women don’t happen with your bottom paragraph so you’re a fucking retarded degenerate.

Ooooh sick burnzz. Oh wait, not quite. And amusingly, I don't believe you buy that yourself. You ran with it because you couldn't come up with better "no u".

I take the Ben Shapiro position that rapists should be castrated or killed.

In addition I also think rapists who make it out alive should be slapped with an extra 30% income tax for the rest of their lives.

Can you say the same? If not, you're not as anti-rape as I am.

"Objectification" hysteria has little to do with sexual crimes, it's about slut shaming men.

You realise sex slaves, rapists, molestors and to a lesser extent pedophiles exisiting makes your entire post moot and not grounded in reality.

Cute fiction though. Maybe go back to school or go outside more to experience a bit more if reality. Maybe take some history lessons, maybe start at Japanese WW2 war crimes.

Then maybe you’ll get a grasp at objectification.

How is this relevant to the conversation? I don't keep sex slaves or slaves period.

No one is saying that you should cut your dick and balls off, but on the other hand, there shouldn't be a consensus in society that women are their bodies first and foremost. Even though no one is talking about outlawing talking among your friends about who's the hottest chick in the room, I have no problem with the media and entertainment getting into trouble if they promote objectification of women, because it has a negative effect on women's freedom and respect.
    Mother pus bucket!

Cool. Never said you did. That was poor deflecting as you know I’m responding to your original point laid out in your OP.
