It's probably because lot of them are constantly asked about when they are going to have children and they actually know better whether someone wants children than the person him/herself. It's probably even worse for women. No wonder lot of them get rather snappy. I hope people can show some maturity for people that don't want children rather than being condescending jerks.

My instinct to breed is there but if i'm being logical, i know i shouldn't and probably will not :

- i'm too selfish to sacrifice for my kids
- When i really think about it in a logical manner, the first reason that comes to my mind to have some is that they will take care of me when i'm old which is not a good reason
- I'm really not optimistic as what's going to happen to the planet in the next generation, not sure i want my kid to endure this.

Yeah once you get to late 20s you start getting the questions. You have to be firm with people and let them know immediately that their opinion on the matter is worth jack shit. A good way to get the ball rolling in that regard is to hand them a planner with your bank account number written on it and ask them to send cash to further their cause/pencil in days that they are available to babysit.

How about everyone acts mature and stops being condescending whether people do or don't want kids? If you've ever seen the marriage question asked on this site, it's probably even worse than the children question. "Why would anyone want to get married? Women are evil and steal half your shit. Of course I wouldn't get married because I'm not an idiot" and on and on.

You're not better or worse than anyone because you do or don't want kids, end of story.

Already discussed this with the husband. Up to 4, but best case scenario for me is 2-3.

As for the follow up question, 40. The ideal age of having your first child is between 18 and 29, the rest can happen between the first and 39. After that, I think age starts hitting you a bit in that sense and the more you wait, the more dangerous it becomes to both you and the child. (Not only that, it's usually harder to become pregnant after 40 anyway)

I'm nearly 26 and the only people that ask me when I'm gonna have kids are people who already know I really want kids, but that's probably because everyone who doesn't already know me mistakes me for highschool age. What is the magically thing that makes one look like they are in their 20s? I don't see how I look any different from anyone else but strangers always guess I'm 20 at most, being generous, but their real guess is 17 or so.

Guess I'll look like a teen mom and get all that judgement when I finally get to have my kids =P
