It is kind of interesting, because the natives there have been friendly to outsiders before. There was one video from the 90's where they ran up to the boat, waving and smiling, and accepted all the gifts the people on the boat brought them.

Although they're hostile most of the time, from what I've read, and the friendly encounters are rare. Seems like they come armed and in 100% Fuck You mode for most visitors.
