I am in utter awe of the tone deafness here.

Ends a week after the end of the Q4 financial quarter.

I suspect it has more to do with Q4 being a shitshow than artificially scarcity. Betting a lot of the higher ups need profits NOW or they will be out on their asses.

It's a scumbag move, but it will work. Blizzard knows their audience at least in that regard (fools).

Now they're using chinese mobile market marketting tactics too

Not so much tone deafness, it's just a cash grab.

My point is they're using the "artificial scarcity" and "temporary availability" to trigger the "Fear of Missing Out" reaction in consumers so they'll leap on the purchase without thinking about it.

"Oh no! I may never see these items again (or will I?)" (done tongue-in-cheek, because they put that disclaimer up there... they're never going to turn down an opportunity to sell them again if it presents itself)

costs 560k gold to get it. start farming

Too bad I never bought any and never will. I somehow unlocked the ability of free will.

What's the problem? Don't want to buy it -50% off - then don't.
It's surely a scumbag move to give people 50% discount right? Especially when it's almost certain scarced items will return in few months.

Eat your discount, hypocritical fucks. That's exactly what you are.

It's going to piss people off. They're trading short-term quarter profits for good will. Unless they think that will get them to the point where they can buyback good will, it is amazing tone deaf.

    10/10 fucks not given.

Imagine the rage they'd get if they just pulled those items from the shop with no notice or sale. They're old items, probably not selling well, and they want to get rid of them to replace with something that might do better. The "See you later" bundle is basically their clearance sale.

Yeah, can you imagine the rent they have to pay on those digital shelves to hold digital goods on it? Gotta move that product and make way for new stuff.

Oh wait, the store doesn't actually have a physical space to occupy. There is no additional cost to keeping the item in the store.

Why do you care about how someone else spends their money?

It's not your money, you aren't their account so instead worry about your own finances.

Especially with people breaking it down for them. It's not like a shyster moving into town on his medicine wagon and pimping their tonics to the hapless bumpkins. People are breaking down the manipulation tactic and how that's all it is. This isn't even an attempt to clear the lot for the 2019 models. It's just about manipulating people for their cash.

whats wrong with that tactic? theyre only screwing over their own profits by taking things off their store

Purchasing power generates ripples, and businesses guide themselves with statistics, if one of these cash grabs is successful, more will follow.
And in what universe are any of these mounts/pets "power"?

https://www.warcraftpets.com/wow-pets/top-twenty/ Literally 1 out of 20 is a store one.

Most of them are shit for pet battles, the mounts have the same speed as every other mount does and the helms are 100% cosmetic.

And again you don't get to decide how someone else spends their money. I mean if you want go do their job for them and earn it then maybe you might have a say.
