I know the oldest race (from Azeroth at least) are the trolls, and I believe they are older than the orcs... I'm not sure about the Draenei, though.

draenei are obviously the oldest and as much as night elves look pretty old, trolls are their ancestors so they are not the oldest for sure. if you're looking for extended information, i would open a tab and type ''races of wow'' and continue from there.

Night elves are just around 15k years old, so aye.

We also don't know exactly when the Eredar came to be. Might be prior to the Zandalari on Azeroth, or after, we do not know.

Aggramar reached Draenor after the Titans had left Azeroth to the keepers, not to mention he left to investigate the Death of a constellar, which marked the beginning of the burning crusade. The draenei are the oldest as far as we know.

Trolls are roughly 16k years old, humans and elves ca 15k etc.

There is no mention when the Eredar (Draenei) first came about, so we don't know if they came before the Trolls on Azeroth or not.

I highly doubt the Orcs are more ancient than the draenei.

No, the Draenei are much, much older than the orcs. 25.000 years before the First War, Argus was already the most developed civilization in the cosmos. Whereas the orcs made their first appearance only 800 years before the First War.

Why does everyone say this? 16,000 years ago was the Aqir wars, when all other trolls existed. The Zandalari had existed for thousands of years prior to that.

Considering Azeroth hasn't even been born yet and it has a history of rapidly evolving species, and the orcs evolutionary line is like: Grond>Breakers>Gronn>Ogron> Ogre Lords> Ogre> Orc, and fact that the Draenei had the most advanced society we ever known about well before any written history of the trolls I'd say the Draenei are the oldest.


Oldest known date for Trolls is 16,000 years ago(For the Zandalari Empire trolls still existed at least sometime before that) while the Draenei have been fleeing for 25,000 years .

I didn't claim they were older than the Eredar.

But we don't know for sure how ancient the Zandalari are, nor the Eredar. But my money is still on the Eredar.
