2) Why didn't they all just leave him and his guild to create their own?

They seem pretty unintelligent. If he was so hated, why not leave him behind? You are top raiders, surely you must be able to come up with your own strats if that's the reason you felt the need to put up with his shit.

Fortune favors the bold. For every superhero there is at least one super villain. Plus I've met a lot of trash people in mom and pop guilds. High end guilds just get the cream of the crop asshats or they at least get a lot more exposure than a guild that is 1/8N with a jackass in it.

Have they been around awhile? I normally look over the top20 list during the raid races and I just don't remember this name at all.

Because the people in the top of any field tend to be high achievers, pefectionists, narscissists, etc willing to put in the work and effort to get there, to get to the top.
