Man the Colts are in a rough spot. They ain't getting Tua with Brisset under center and suddenly the AFC South looks back to the worst division in the league.

Gotta wonder if his shoulder just never got right.

I can see why Luck is retiring. Constantly fighting through injuries is completely demoralizing.

Unbelievable, and a testament to guys who do endure this constant cycle of pain and rehab and still want to play. I randomly thought of Jake Butt, Broncos TE, off of his 3rd ACL, but there's tons of other players. Kudos to them.

If I were a Colts fan I'd be worried their organization spends the year expecting an unretirement instead of scouting the QBs after that presser.

Good for Luck for making the decision he thinks is best for himself.

    Also, almost Chad Kelly time!

Lamar Miller probably tearing his ACL certainly would support that.

Yeah this goes up there next to Detroit and Sanders, Johnson.

People are already trying to say he was a bust. If every QB bust played like him the Browns would've been a dynasty past couple decades.

That OLine will have Brisset injured by week 3.

They could easily tank for Tua.

Wut? Didn't the Colts have one of the best O-line in football last year? With an amazing left guard in Quenten Nelson? I think you are judging the Colts on years past, not on current standings.

(though admittedly part of an O-line's quality is also in the QB behind it. Some QB's make their O-line look good, some do the opposite)

Yeah but the AFC south also all upped their pass rush*, behind the Colts starters IIRC there's not an amazing amount of depth.

*This of course is assuming the Texans keep Clowney.

4299 yards, 93 qb rating, 66% completion. Sacked 47 times, a huge number given he doesn't hold onto the ball very long.

And here are the two halves of the Giants season:

Games 1-8: 1-7 record. 77 yards rushing per game, 4 sacks allowed per game. Eli still 90 qb rating. Average 18 points per game.
Games 9-16: 4-4 record. 128 yards rushing per game, 2 sacks allowed. Average 27 points per game.

The line stabilized over the bye week and they had a good offense for the second half of the year, and the first half they were bad because the line was crap. The defense was bad all year, which is why they were only 4-4.

I don't disagree with drafting a successor for Eli given the relatively weak roster at this point, but I also don't think he deserves all the blame he has gotten. But he's 38 and has never had a really serious injury and he's never depended on his athleticism. I think he's probably got something left. He was never a superstar but he's still a decent NFL qb.
I agree with this also. The tape does not lie and his supporting cast has never been great with a QB like Eli you need a very good defense and atleast a middle of the pack offensive line. I was arguing with a guy yesterday that he was saying keep drafting QB's until you land yourself a Patrick Mahomes but the problem with that is they do not come around all the time and you can win a superbowl with an Eli Manning assuming you built the team int he correct way. I was reading a few articles talking about how bad Andy Dalton / Ryan Tannehill / Derek Carr are but i am sure if any of those middle of the road QB's played with the Patriots we would all be talking about them in a different light.

( For context i am a Buffalo Bills fan ).

Carr had no one to throw to last year and still put up 4k yards, 68.9% completion rate (78.9% on ADP, after 22 drops.

This is his make or break year, he's throwing to his best ever receiver corps, and has no excuse to not go deep.

    This.

Dude is pulling a Carson Palmer to get out of Indy.

Trey Hopkins getting the starting job at Center over Billy Price is a shocker.

Daimon Willis starting at WR to replace Green.

Its not pain if you like it right? Josh Allen showed promise but god the accuracy issues are everywhere.

I'm still "cautiously optimistic (tm)" about the Bills this year.

I'm always optimistic before the season starts. Every year me and my friend Coleen both say, "Super Bowl, better buy our tickets now."

We haven't bought SB tickets in 26 years. And even then, it was my dad who bought them.
