Unless you're going to change something in that origin story, we've already had it twice with the Fox films, we don't need to retread it again.
That's why origin stories started to get mocked; every Batman and Spider-Man and Superman film series re-told that origin story. Without changing it. As if they, and the audience, were starting fresh.
We're not starting fresh. The only reason to delve into their origin stories is if you're changing something really critical. Miles Morales needed an origin story, for instance; new character, exists alongside Spider-Man, unique origin (if related). But as Into the Spider-Verse understood, we DON'T need origins for all the others, because they're basically all the same. It became a running joke, played really well IMO.
We don't really need origin stories for the X-men. Give us their first "real" team-up, against a villain who will end them if he can, the first time they faced a serious threat. Not the first time the team came together; assume they've done some "easy" runs to snag some scared/angry kids who are lashing out, but don't seriously intend harm, enough that they've already "gelled" as a team. If you want to show some cracks, have the perspective character the audience follows be the "new guy", the recruit who's trying to find their place.
You can deliver characterization without going back to the very beginning. And particularly if you're dealing with a team-up, you shouldn't. You don't have time. That's why the Avengers films generally "worked"; they kicked right into the action and you already knew everyone.
Regardless of what happens there, it's just not going to work for me if he's portrayed by anyone other than Patrick Stewart. And I can't think of anyone who'd be more perfect than Hugh Jackman for Wolverine. There is no improving those two. It can only get worse from there.

Yeah, during the Ultimate version of the Clone Saga Dr. Octopus created several modified clones of Peter, complete with all of his memories up to the point he was cloned. The only mentally stable one of those clones was modified to be female and went on to use the alias Jessica Drew while working for Shield.

Yes there will be a retooling of cast once Disney starts making Fox property movies. Thats not to say that they won't hire any current actors to reprise their roles in Disney movies but it really depends on how Disney wants to handle any mutant story lines. I imagine that between now and 2025 there will be at least 3 mutant movies and 3 new avengers movies then there will be one or 2 X-Men Vs Avengers movie(s).
Personally I wouldn't mind a Fall of the Mutants movie, one of my fave story lines.
I guess you know everything.
What's my favorite food?
FYI, i'm far from right wing.
In fact i dispise them even more than i dispise the far left.
(And by far left, i dont mean socialism, cause apparently that's how people think in the US)
My problem is not the representation.
It's that it is done for other reasons, and not because producers care.
It's just a trend, where every new movie or game has to go on twitter and brag about how "woke" they are.
And my friends who happen to be gay or bi all agree that it is annoying.
Because they don't make it seem natural in the story, but more like charity.
And in case you're wondering, it's ok to make gay jokes.
They find it funny as well.
And all that overly-PC culture is a bad thing.
And of course i dislike them changing already established characters.
As well as changing historical figures in certain "documentaries".
And this goes both(all) ways.
As a mixed person who has grown up in 4, very tolerant, countries.
It is pretty easy to be objective on such matters.
But i guess for most people there's either black or white.
Everyone either has to be with you, or against you. Sigh.
As for "the message", yes i understand it.
They can add more characters to expand on that message.
Just leave the old ones alone.
I don't know...people keep saying stuff like this, but I don't really think it's going to be a problem. Stewart's and Jackman's may be big shoes to fill, but I think a lot of the issue comes down to thinking of it as "Jackman's Wolverine" instead of just Wolverine. Once the new actors are in (if they decide to use the same characters that is) and they've got a couple movies under their belts, I'm sure people will be able to more easily make the distinction. Just as they do with Affleck's Batman vs all the others that came before him.
Days of future past was amazing (9/10), really liked that it wasn't any clear bad guys lose, good guys win. And the end of days in the future set the vibe pretty good.
Doubt we'll get more of this stuff with Disney. Probably just gonna download any crap that comes out of Disney if it's even worth the time.
...seriously? Did you turn off Infinity War halfway through, or what?
I mean, for Christ's sake, even Civil War ended with half the "good guys" in some maximum-security black box and Cap having to break them out, and the others having to come to grips with being nearly crippled and the consequences of fighting people they once called friend. If you can't be assed to pay attention, throwing cute little tantrums over what the dreaded DISNEY is going to do to your beloved characters is just going to get you laughed at.
