The Left has a vested interest in supporting robust free speech and even dark comedy, as it is typically the most vulnerable communities that get affected when speech rights are diminished. The Left also needs to wake the hell up about religion and immigration and talk about both openly, without this constant fear of stepping on eggshells. Even the beloved Jess Phillips was accused of being an Islamophobe and bigot, just for addressing a simple issue. Our own liberal principles are being weaponized against us.

This insanity needs to stop and real issues will have to be addressed sincerely, and the Left better wakes up and does this before the Right monopolizes the discussion completely.

Benjamin was never going to make sexism or racism acceptable in mainstream politics, even if he claims it's all jokes, because we've come too far from when "If you want a nigger for a neighbour vote Liberal or Labour" was considered valid discourse. Ahhh I see where this thread went wrong. Posters thought that open Islamophobia and "Free Speech" were relevant to the British public at large. Kallisto has the right of it by describing UKIP as a cult to Farage, once he left they had a string of leaders who struggled to define a new identity for it that wasn't just being an Islamophobe until Batten stumbled upon useful idiots like Sargon thinking he could key into the alt right politics of the youth to replace the cultists he knew he'd be losing to Farage.
