I mean... at this point he would fit the *monster* kinda type of character in the sense he has malicious intent but he isn't a Burning Legion like threat(Yet anyways). Thing about Sylvanas is, she's been in a state of Undeath and pretty shady already so her character is known to be that way. Bolvar hasn't had much action as a character or even Lich King.

Villain or not, Bolvar will be fun to watch.

If anything Bolvar strikes me was the character people want to pretend Sylvanas is. The Anti-hero. He's the Lich King, he leads the Scourge, he works in the name of Death, but he's still got a moral code of sorts and won't go along with things like "I want to kill all of Azeroth, will you help me, fellow Undead?"

Yeah, I think your right. I had to stop and think about him not in the lense of this hype thread.

Question is is the concept art supposed to be there? Or was that stitched together?

It might've been patched on and the leak planned to get everyone speculating with some solid evidence, but scarce details. Scarce details promotes speculation and discussion. More discussion equals free advertisement.

The blurb makes sense if there's no class. The leak I like mentions new talent trees and non-artifacts where you unlock new abilities: but no new class.

My point is there’s *nothing*. If the class abilities are tied to expansion progression, that isn’t a selling point. At worst, something like a Garrison is a selling point. This doesn’t even have that.

There needs to be a big incentive to sell preorders, especially after an xpac like BFA.

Let's be honest: Death Knight & Demon Hunter were deeply established into the lore. Dark Ranger too, but its only a Ranger that became undead. Like Sira is a Dark Warden. Or how a platoon of undead hunters in legion was called by Sylvanas "Dark Rangers". If anything Necromancers & Rangers are more likely to be new classes

I mean technically Bolvar has committed no crime. Every encounter with him, is neutral. He gives DKs the choice to spare or kill Red Dragons.

When Mages come to Icecrown to claim Felo'melorn, he tells you he will not interrupt, he will let you pass and claim what you seek, but should you die, you will be a minion of the Scourge. In BFA he says Sylvanas disrupts the balance of Death.

Bolvar is very clearly not "evil" or a "monster" he is the jailer of the damned, he holds back The Scourge, that is his purpose and he accepts it.
