Some math nerds looked at things like character model size, terrain, and such, and were able to convert various movement effects into real life miles per hour. Pre-nerf highest level riding, which was 492% for death knights and paladins before Legion, clocked in at only about 76 mph. I think the 420% speed we all have now is something like 60 mph. Sad to think, huh?

Why does my Character kill things so slow? My Path of Exile character can kill hundreds of mobs in a few seconds. Also why is the RPG elements in this game so lacking ? My Dwarf Fortress Characters track down to each finger and toe.

One of the reasons why leveling takes longer and your first mount fees so rewarding.
I dont mind it, as a fresh adventurer you start without a dime and poor and over time you get some riches.
Imagine how awesome is the epic mount once you get that 1k gold (its another big journey for a lot of people).

But all in all the game and community will be better off without people like you and similar, which is even better.
You should stick to retail and enjoy it, Classic is not for you.

Movement speed isn't the same. It was either wotlk or TBC that they increased the overall speed of the game. They just increased it all across the board to pick up the pace of play.

It will be taking 5 times more /played to reach level 20 in classic. I dare to say that it takes less time to reach 40 in retail and gain epic mount access, than it takes to reach 20 in classic.
