For someone who likes the genre, no doubt but I dont play 3rd person games and I am certainly not the target audience for Alan Wake or Quantum Break.
Something about the art style bothers me too, its too overproduced or something idk
Edit: figured it out, while looking at some game footage, I like games that look good, not realistic, or atleast trying to look realistic but still fall within game territory, the faces are super uncanny valley on closeups, it looks like things should behave like they'd do in real life, but they dont because its a game.
Common issue with this sort of art direction of no colors, lens flare, oversaturated lights, "game looks like you're permanently stuck in a dream sequence" stuff

EGS games are basically a no-go from me. I've already got enough platforms to deal with, I don't need another. And I definitely don't need to wait a year to pay full price for a year-old game, either. The sooner this stupid exclusivity thing dies out, the better off we'll all be.
I liked this game; it was ambitious in a way I wish more action games would brave. However, it was sort buggy at times and needlessly frustrating at times.
This was a very enjoyable game. The world building is superb.
Didn't have much interest in this initially but after hearing a lot of things recently with end of the year awards so I picked it up on the Epic encore sale for effectively $20. I really like it so far but I'm not too far in.
Anyone finished it? About how many hours of gameplay is it.
It was OK honestly. The design is pretty cool and the story is convoluted yet interesting at the same time. The enemy variety is crap however, and the gameplay gets stale after a while. The ending is also pretty blasé.
All in all it may scratch your Max Payne/Alan Wake itch, but it's not as good as those games.
That was part of my problem. The enemys went from "i wonder what strange stuff is coming" to "oh its the same enemy with a destiny style energy shield" and the combat was so loose and floaty by the end i was just excited for the combat to end. In a Remedy game thats a problem for me, but i seem to be in the minority with all the awards its getting. I was excited for it but honestly found it kind of a damp squib.
I enjoyed Control a lot, my opinion, my view and no one else can tell me different. Tough, if you didn't like the game don't play it.
