How so? I mean just from a video game industry POV, our ethics are what people cow to or consider before making something questionable.

They look at it because we are one of the largest buying markets on the planet. So if we dont like it thats a lot of lost revenue not because they give two shits about enforcing ethics. If you think it is you dont understand big business. Its all about da money

See "we don't like it" for a good reason. Why do so many people cast doubts on the reason, like it's hypocritical lies upon lies?

As long as I can order a DVD of a 30kg 135cm Japanese girl getting fucked for 2 hours from Amazon getting mad at anime tits seems a bit silly.

You can spin it however you like. The various interpretations on what is allowed or not allowed concerning fictitious material is still a hilarious subject

And why's that, because it's all fake? Tell me: If someone's favorite media collection was Cannibal Holocaust (movie), Korn (music), and Manhunt (video game), you think that's not really any cause for suspicion of his privacy?

I think companies regulate violent and sexual media because, depending on what someone likes, it can lead to dangerous people. There's an off-topic news article now about how someone so addicted to violent simulation like PUBG dismembered his father when told to stop playing.

No cause at all. None. Why would it be cause for you?

Or, do you mean like people and their 12+ year addiction to anime? Those people? I'm really suspicious of those folks, even moreso when they claim frantically that they have no addiction at all.

on basis of that information alone? no...

you need more info than that to really justify looking into anyone's personal details.

    edit:

honestly, that you might see that as enough reason to strip someone else's privacy is more unnerving.

well they already do that as it is for people into anime media. Hence Sony's regulations. I just remembered DOA Xtreme 3 was never brought over for these reasons.

yes but the characters are underage. That's what causes concern.

That says more about where you reside than whether or not the idea is 'correct'

eh, you can play straight up toddlercon games in the US and it's legal. girls with 30 year old milf bodies aren't going to be an issue.

also, companies placing bans and restrictions on things =/= federal/state law. you're not getting arrested for not wearing shoes in walmart, but you are getting asked by an employee to leave the store.

Then I think you have some wires crossed or are misinformed about such things with respect to actual laws and regulations.

The companies producing the state side releases of games is something else and I'm not aware of any laws or regulations actually restricting any such material from being sold or released.

I am aware of a lack or AO games but that seems more due to various platforms not wanting to sell rather than any real legal issues.

Overall this seems to be an offshoot of the discussion concerning whether or not various material affects people's actions, which is a debate that really lacks any real merit since sources indicate either outcome (actually affecting people's behavior or not) depending on who's sources are pulled. Some people like to aim this discussion at whatever topic they get hung up on, whether it's gun violence or anime or some overly sexy thing... in the end most of the people taking the most vocal stance against any of these media sources seem to have personal issues they aren't properly dealing with or are trying to get voter support in an upcoming election.

Now as for sony or whatever California based business' woke practices for handling their failing merchandise... that's not indicative of any legislative actions.

How is this actually a thread? No you can't. Sony is forcing censorship on games because of their own employees. They've stated they have a new content board that comes before ratings boards. In short, Sony is being stupid and I sincerely hope it bites them hard.

A large number of pornhub videos are barely 18 girls that pretend to be 8th graders/highschoolers that fuck their step parents/step brother/teacher... Pretty sure that should be banned before drawings. But hey what do I know.

Oh, right, remember Dungeon Travelers 2 recently? That's a prime example of this topic.

Just because someone likes that stuff doesn't mean anything and it doesn't mean he/she should be watched. Like you have been told 100 times, as long as it's not real then it's fine.
