Democrats just came off a massive victory in 2018, the biggest turnout in 100 years.


The 2020 election will see the biggest voter turnout for a Presidential election in probably the last 60 years.

Do you think Trump will get more votes than in 2016?

I believe he will. I think he has potentially radicalized more people and they want to support him. We can all agree on his 40% base and the bold statement I'm typing here is it is not the majority or close to split. We know that 100 million people don't vote and here is where my political science is sketchy. Yes, a big proportion are young and/or minority who don't vote but I believe I saw articles where most of that majority is again white. Now do we claim all white people are Trump supporters? Of course not.

So yeah this 2020 may have a the biggest turnout and I know you didn't state it will all be one sided toward the Democrats, but I think you and I agree that we do need a large anti-Trump base to come out. Yes, we get to where it really comes down to a few states, which of course Trump won by a total of less than 80k votes.

I just posted about the Senate and I'm perplexed. Yes, 1 Senate gain may be it for the Democrats but that is again shocking. Shocking as this voting is coming how many Senators in purple states will support this President. Now these are Senators who will lose and the Republicans are going to gain some Dem seats such as Alabama so again the math might be one seat.

Are you not amazed that here we are today that one party is claiming loyalty to this guy. These are the times and we can say the perfect storm I guess. Yet, didn't happen with Reagan and more currently with Obama. Obama swept in with an incredible mandate on his election taking states that now the Democrats would dream about as being purple. Yet, the Dems never backed Obama as some person who they have undying loyalty towards. Maybe its the parties in general or the makeup of the parties. We know the Republicans can hold ranks as a super majority white and evangelical party.

I ramble but my point is, will this be the future of the parties. Swearing and undying loyalty to some leader and don't care about the consequences.

He hasn't;t radicalized new people, only super radicalized the people that were already radical that voted for him 2016.

Trump won due to a small handful of moderates who either protest voted or biughtintot he Russian propaganda. His base has always been irrelevant.

The infamous line of "I just want smaller government!" is usually the rage filled answer I get when asking them the same question. It's almost like the people who screech the loudest about "Freedom" are the ones who want to be controlled to think and do as they're told. Government so small to control the smallest of minds.

My conversations usually go something like this:

"Trump is awesome!"
"But he's not doing anything."
"Yeah he has!"
"Ok, what has he done?"
"Uh some judges, tax cuts and... uh..."
"So he's not really done anything significant."
"Well that's fine with me, I like smaller government anyway, and Trump doing nothing means the government is getting small."
"Government continues to grow under Trump, our deficit is shooting through the roof faster and higher than Obama, and the legislature is passing more laws all the time that Trump continues to sign even though he has no part in them."

At that point they either stop responding to me or just start flinging insults.


Even if Trump is not removed from office, even if he is reelected in 2020, the evidence of his crimes will come out for all to see once he leaves office. We found out about all of Cheney and Bush's crimes and lies once they were gone. Trump is going to be a chapter in American history where the history books will write about the rank and rampant corruption. History will remember Trump as the biggest criminal politician of our time. When Trump no longer has executive power, he won't be protected, and every hammer of the law is going to come crushing down on the sad, angry old man.
